the cabin changes put a damper on the trip. the staff was great and after the first 4 days, we were able to truly relax. The retreat sundeck is in an awful location with steep steps and no elevator access. an issue for my husband so we missed a few bonus events.

Cabin / Stateroom

we had three cabins. the second was 9123. We were moved there the second day. the layout of the room was very poor plus absolutely no storage space in bathroom which had a shower with curtain (water got all over floor every time it was used - no matter how many towels were put down in advance). at 4 a.m. for the two nights we spent here, loud booms, running feet and dragging lounger chairs happened for an hour. Noise throughout the day, also. Our original cabin was 8117 and the room was fine but the bathroom had a two-foot high tub with no grab bar inside it. it would have been an accident in the making for my husband to use. I did research on celebrity website prior to booking and it said the suite had a separate shower. That was the reason we moved to the second cabin. our third cabin was 8121 (which was right next to our original cabin) and the room configuration was not good. tv above the couch. bathroom had no storage space and the shower was still an issue with water going all over the floor. I did not enjoy unpacking, packing, unpacking, packing and unpacking my first four days of the cruise.
Ship tip
The staff on the Millennium is amazing. We were sky suites so we enjoyed the Luminae and the Retreat Lounge. Advice to future cruisers: please be kind and polite to your servers. please treat them with respect and acknowledge them. I cannot believe the rudeness of fellow passengers who ignored the wait staff or were basically rude to them.
There is an elevator to the Retreat Sundeck. It is a separate one that only goes from deck 11 to deck 12. It is on the starboard side near the stairs that lead up there. That having been said, the sundeck was not that useful for us because it was either too windy, too sunny (not a lot of shade opportunities up there) or both.
my husband and I always acknowledge the staff who works so hard to make cruising a pleasure for guests. it was embarrassing to watch several passengers being so indifferent - not acknowledging wait staff - throughout our time on board.
