Review summary

The cruise overall was really great, despite my review highlighting those things we considered to be areas for improvement. I can't say enough about how great the crew is with service being at the heart of what they do. I loved not having to wear my mask all over the ship and felt safe the whole week. We had one case of COVID and I appreciated the Captain's transparency in communicating with all the guests. He and his officers are really doing a fantastic job in managing the ship and crew! Other things we loved about this cruise were that we were not constantly hounded by the staff like we might have been pre-pandemic. No one trying to upsell our beverage packages, pushing spa services, or quirky photo opportunities at every port and we LOVED it! Please keep this attitude going forward! We didn't feel nickel and dimed around every corner. Other strong positives include the muster process and the ability to use their app for most activities, booking dining & excursions, and as an all-around information center. That being said, it isn't all perfect. You should know the details of your reservation because you will have to ask for everything you have purchased. You might think your reservation includes the details, but you will have to discuss them with guest relations...every time. This includes on-board credit and wifi packages. WiFi was often questionable and, in fact, completely absent in Skagway. They really ought to warn you ahead of time and might even consider giving you a break on pricing based on those knowns. We are elite with Celebrity but didn't realize any benefit of that status.

Embarkation

Could not have been any easier or quicker!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main and specialty dining food quality was excellent. Buffet was fantastic! Food quality, selection, and especially service. Their staff had the BEST attitudes! We ate in Tuscan Grill on the first night and it was superb. QSine was fun with outstanding service and food. Service was great all around! Sushi on 5 and Spa Cafe hit a homerun every time! My only disappointment with this category was that I asked for avocado 3 times and was only offered one once. I finally gave up on having any on board. I realize that that sounds trivial but....

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Truly exceptional talks on bears, whales, and eagles! Fitness center is large with a wide selection of equipment and was very clean. Persian garden experience was hit and miss. I'm not sure it warranted the higher prices paid for Aqua class.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Show selection and quality was about a 5 out of 10. Music talent throughout the ship was good overall. A few times we thought there ought to be someone playing somewhere but there wasn't.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I have rarely experienced better service and it was prevalent throughout the ship.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Staff were cleaning constantly.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Decent size with a great location! Minuses were the small shower and balcony but the rest was good. Comfortable bed and pillows with plenty of storage space. Room steward, Marlon, did an exceptional job for us!

Appreciate your feedback. Sad to hear that you had to “nag” for prepaid and earned “perks”. Glad you enjoyed your cruise in spite of that.

Great review. Thank you. Do you mean you had to talk to Guest Services to have them actually apply your on-board credit to your account? That stinks.

Thank you for your well balanced review stating the positive and not over blowing the negatives. Nice job.
