Review summary

This was a once in a life time gift from my mom and grandmother to my daughter and myself. I cannot say how much we enjoyed every minute. We made sure that we enjoyed every moment from the time we got up to the meals, excursions, right down to enjoying down time in the evening looking out over all the beautiful scenery. I have been to Tuscany and my favorite place, Disney World but this cruise to Alaska is on the top of my list. One thing I would do differently next time would be to get more involved with the locals at each port. I look forward to doing another cruise to Alaska to visit different areas and learning more information about culture.

All I can say is Celebrity does it all right. They make everything so easy. The Celebrity representatives at the airport were all friendly and professional

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
My Daughter and I mainly ate at the Main dining room and the buffet for breakfast. We felt like we were dining at a high end restuarnt everynight. The staff was attentive and no detail was left out. The buffet was always fresh.

Onboard Activities

We were so busy with excursions that we really did not take advantage of any of the onboard activites.

Service and Staff

OMG. I cannot say enough about the service. Everyone from the Guest services, the dining room, our housekeeper for our statement room, right down to the employees we met randomly around the ship were so, so nice and accomodating. They made my daughter and I feel special in every aspect of our journey.

Ship Quality

Esther was in charge of our stateroom. There was never anything out of place and she always kept everything immaculate.

Ship tip

Relax and enjoy all the service and ammonities that the ship offers. If you want to keep the table you are given for the duration of the cruise in the main dining room make reservations. If you don't, you may have to wait for your table or they may put you somewhere else.

Ports of call

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Juneau was our first port and did not know what to expect. Our excursion was the Mendenhal Glacier and Whale watching. We met with our tour guide early and we were able to go to the Glacier early and spend more time there. Because of that we were able to walk up to the falls and enjoy the beauty that the area had to offer. Afterwards, we went whale watching. The crew were our guides and were informative about the trials and tribulations about Skagway. She was very "professional" (wink, wink). We decided not to go shopping because we were just exhausted from our excursions.

Skagway, Alaska

Loved the town of Skagway. We took the Goodtime girls and ghost tour. Our guide was so informative about the town and so fun to listen to all the stories and information she told us. Afterwards we went to Liarsville for the show and Salmon bake. All I can say about the Salmon bake was "YUM". Even though it was all you can eat, the food was delicious and filling first time around. I would highly recommend it. Liarsville camp was quant and kichy with it's rollplay characters and panning for gold.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Loved Icey Straight. We had beautiful weather and decided to to walk the nature trail. This port is truely the "True Alaska". Loved the shops. One must... is to make sure you always ask which stores are locally owned.

Ketchikan, Alaska

We went to the Rainforest and Raptor Center. It was very educational. Later we shopped at the locally owned stores on Creek Street. This part of town is built on stilts and board walks over the falls it was so pretty.
