Review summary

Really great route through parts of the world that are too rarely seen. Great extra effort to reach unique Patagonia locations. Best ship, crew, and food we've had on a cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Best ever, far less waiting, picked a time slot and showed up with only 1/10 the crowd

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Ate mostly at the buffet - great variety, easy quick access, friendly helpful service

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pickleball was a real highlight. The wind and the ship moving affected the play, but not the fun. The hot tubs and the salt pool, especially in the solarium, were awesome.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We barely paid attention to the entertainment, but the replays of the ranger (Celia?) wildlife talks on TV were fantastic, and the musicians looked and sounded good.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Another of the best things. Loved the people helping us. So friendly and nice.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Good design and maintenance

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Huge sliding doors gave a great view outside. Shower space was adequate, all you can expect from a cruise cabin. Decent little TV, desk, couch, comfy bed.

Ports of call

Valparaiso (Santiago), Chile

4 out of 5
Decent starting point. Did not do an excursion.

Puerto Montt, Chile

5 out of 5
Good, did not do an excursion, but visited the town.

Cruise Chilean Fjords

5 out of 5
Sadly most of this was in the dark of night, and it is just an opportunity to view from the moving ship.

Cruise Strait Of Magellan

5 out of 5
Great historic passage, no excursion

Punta Arenas, Chile

5 out of 5
Fantastic Patagonia, did an excursion arranged independently, horseback riding.

Ushuaia, Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina

5 out of 5
Great, did an excursion arranged independently, hiking the National Park

Cruise Cape Horn

5 out of 5
Fantastic to add this detour and see this historic and wild place. No excursion.

Puerto Madryn, Argentina

5 out of 5
2 hours away was the great penguin rookery, went there on independently arranged excursion. Amazing

Montevideo, Uruguay

5 out of 5
Just went to town, no excursion. Nice place, new country for us.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

5 out of 5
No excursion, but we're staying here for a month! Great town, great location.

Disembarkation

Nicely arranged, well-communicated
