We survived Drake Passage and made it to Antarctica. The white continent is truly pristine and you have to see it because the pics just don't do it justice. It was a challenge to pack but we did it! Bring your warm clothes!! I'm not sorry I wore my Ugg boots and just had to do a quick change of shoes when I arrived in 90 degree Buenos Aires heat. Take the penguin excursions - you won't be disappointed.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
No problems -- fast and very well organized
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
For all dinners and some breakfasts we ate in Blu which is designated for AquaClass guests. Food was amazing, waiter and assistant were wonderful and we chose to go to the same ones every night!! The breakfast service was not what I have come to expect from Celebrity but still good.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There is always alot to do!! We spent alot of time at the various Trivia and Games and the shows and of course the bars!!! We probably should have been at the fitness center but it's vacation!!!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
All shows that we attended were good or excellent. There was a lot of musical talent onboard and if you didn't like one you could always find another!!!
Children's Programs
We didn't bring any children with us!!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
For the most part the service and staff were excellent. A few hiccups along the way!!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It's an old ship and needs remodeling. It's still beautiful but when you've been on some of the other Celebrity ships you know this is an older ship!!
Cabin / Stateroom

Room was great and attendant was very helpful and kept the room clean!!! Unfortunately we had a few plumbing issues in the first two days that were immediately rectified. Our biggest complain was the balcony door not being totally sealed so the wind howling became a major noise problem and one night we did call for assistance. We were offered a room on floor 7 but we decided to stick it out and some days were better than others. Had I known how many suites were on floor 7 perhaps I may have taken them up on their offer if we were going to get a suite.
Cold but loved it. The mountains you see when you arrive are truly magnificent!!! We took the excursion catamaran out to see the lighthouse sea lions and PENGUINS......Loved seeing the sites but it was about 2.5 hours from dock to get to penguins and then of course back again. There was alot of time just sitting on the boat inside which was pretty full with little room. I wish I had brought a book!!!
There are no pictures or words to describe how beautiful Antarctica looks!!! It was cold but again we prepared and were able to spend alot of time outside enjoying the sites. The same is true for other Antarctica sites.

The same is true for other Antarctica sites. I think Paradise Bay was my favorite. It was so quiet and serene and just gorgeous. We did get to see some of the wildlife swimming.

Falkland Islands .....wow!!! We took the 4X4 out to see the Penguins at Volunteer Point -- you must go. But be prepared to do some heavy 4 wheeling. It took a few hours to get to the Penguins and they were so worth it!!! I was never a lover of penguins but seeing what we saw on this trip I can appreciate them so much more!!! Simon was our driver and he was a great driver -- not much of a talker -- but we knew he was one of the leads and knew how to get everyone who got stuck out of the mess they were in! I was shocked there was no roads to get out to where we were going. We were literally on farmers' land and you really need to know where you are going to even get to Volunteer Point. The box lunch wasn't a Celebrity meal but it was a little different and okay!!! (Sandwich, water, juice, and various snack items!!)
I think this may have been my favorite. Again, a long ride to get to the Penguin Rookery but so so so worth it. I loved this place. The penguins reminded me of ground hogs or prairie dogs and knowing they have to walk a long long way to get to the ocean to get food and come back up to feed their babies is so special to witness. It's gorgeous area. We had a steak lunch here!! It was a great day!!
It was very warm in Montevideo!!! We took the city tour with our guide Gabriel who was actually from Maryland!!! We got to see quite a bit of the city and had authentic Uruguay lunch!!!
Please message me as I would like to consult with you more on this itinerary. My wife retires in the fall of 2025 and I want to surprise her …..she wants to see the penguins so bad!
