Review summary
Ya know, if you want to find something to complain about .... you can. We chose to make the best of situations that were not ideal. After all, we were on the cruise to be with each other, even after 37 years.
We drove to Vancouver, BC the day before and leave our car. Border crossing, was a quick and easy 50 minutes. Some we talked with were 2 plus hours. The Days Inn in Vancouver was quite nice and only 5 blocks from the terminal. We elected to board early - 11:15am. Doing so got us onboard in about 40 minutes. This gave us lots of time to walk around and find where things were. Early was a good thing, too. Those who chose to wait til afternoon were up to 2 hours. We were enjoying a latte by that time ...
The entire cruise staff were awesome, food superb, and our ocean view stateroom was perfect. We had lots of onboard credits to spend and spent it all. The cover charge restaurants were well worth the money. Qsine was our favorite. We were treated like royalty with dinner with a beautiful ocean view took 2 hours and 20 minutes. Hanif our waiter was extraordinaire. The Oceanview, anytime dining venue, always had a great selection of food to please even the picky eaters .. lol. The hard part was puling away from the table.
We like our lattes . One of the waiters who served us only once on Monday, remembered our names on Tuesday. Really? I have a hard time remembering the people I work with - LOL! Even those who worked the shops remembered who you were. Made us feel really special.
The Infinity was well maintained, though you can always fine a chip here or there. She was quiet. Much quieter that our previous cruise. She was in dry dock fall of 2015 for some upgrades to furnishings, new upper deck, and linens.
We took an excursion at each of our ports. Icy Straits tram and dance we would probably rate a 3/5. Over priced. In Juneau we opted for the Gold Creek Salmon Bake - 5/5. WOW! Being from WA we know what good salmon is. This was some of the best ever and with the homemade coleslaw, baked beans, and other condiments provided us with a very tasty lunch. Our guide was excellent and provided some great humor and information. We found some great values at the various shops before boarding for Ketchican. We have been here before, but still a great town to shop and lots of excursions. We took the Trolley and Saxman Village tour - 5/5. Our guide was informative and very personable. He enjoyed his job.
We booked a Future Cruise for Panama Canal April 2018, taking advantage of reduced deposit and additional onboard credit, Now all we have to do is save and pay.
Now for the sad part ... time to board of the final cruise to Vancouver and home.
Celebrity Pre-cruise help was phenomenal. Emails were always answered. Even got a call a few days before we left and after we got home.
Celebrity Cruises provides a 5+ star experience.
