Review summary
We were fortunate to have excellent weather--clear skies and gorgeous views. Our private balcony gave us a quiet and comfortable place to enjoy the scenery. Ports of call were all interesting, and the State Museum in Juneau was superb. It really told the Alaska story well, with excellent displays. Food was quite good, with plenty of choices for any taste. Stateroom pleasant, comfortable and service with a smile. But...noise everywhere. Vocal "music" chosen by ??? piped in everywhere, and turned up too loud. Breakfast/lunch buffets with 1000 people is already full of conversation--and the canned "music" just made everyone talk louder (in many different languages). The Constellation Lounge on Deck 10 afforded panoramic views for nature lovers, and was a gathering place for naturalist talks and wildlife watching. Nice bar, too! But...canned music unnecessary. We don't gamble, buy jewelry, dance, play games or watch shows, so the activities offered did not interest us. Wished for more 'intellectual/educational' activity. Mickey did provide some, but always with a sales pitch---take expensive Celebrity shore excursions, buy buy buy. We wanted to see at least some of Alaska--and we did.
