Review summary
Generally the communication about activities and procedures was very poor, and there many many older confused souls wandering the decks and public areas. This started with the company website before the cruise.
The food was mediocre. The tours were overpriced and the ports of call were irrational. Why would you stop in Colon, Panama which is too dangerous to leave the immediate port area according to most guide books. The answer is clear. It was an opportunity to sell tour packages for outrageous prices.
I will not consider Celebrity Cruise line in the future, and wish they would stop sending me emails.

As pointed out this review is lacking an supporting facts to back up the one star, no specific reasons for what they did not like.
I'd be happy to be on a ship where the CD is not on the loud speakers all day every 10 minutes. It does not sound like they took the list of activities with them each day from the daily paper.
I have found Celebrity ships have the best bathroom storage of the major lines (I also like the built in night lights on Solstice class ship bathrooms). I have been on the Infinity, she was my first Celebrity cruise and made them my first choice in cruise lines.

The 1st was shortly after boarding in Ft. Lauderdale. We were sitting in the cafeteria getting a bite to eat when the announcement was made that everyone had to meet in their muster area for the safety briefing in twenty minutes. It would have been nice to have been informed about the safety briefing time when we went through the embarkation process so that we could have planned for it without having to gulp down the rest of our food in a few short minutes.
As this was not your first cruise, surely you were aware that there would be a safety briefing before you set sail. Did you not read the "daily" on embarkation?

My wife and I were on this same cruise and absolutely loved it! This was our 3rd "big ship" cruise but our 1st with Celebrity. We only had two complaints about the ship's communication. The 2nd instance was when we went to attend the Captain's Party and we when arrived we were told that it was postponed until a later date. We never received advance notice about the change in date. Regarding the food, for the most part it was excellent, especially in the main dining room at dinner. And the freshly baked bread each day was the most delicious bread we have ever tasted anywhere! We also ate in all three of the ship's specialty restaurants and thought the food in both the Qsine and the Bistro on Five was very good. And the staff and service everywhere onboard was superb during the whole cruise! Ports of Call excursions were a mixed bag as we took some that were booked directly with the ship and a few others that were booked through links with Cruise Critic. I especially liked the Colon, Panama excursion (booked through Celebrity) that gave us a close-up and interesting view of the 1st set of locks that we would be passing through the next day. Our eco boat tour on Gatun Lake was also fantastic in that we saw sloths and monkeys hanging from trees and also saw a toucan. We don't see those things in Dayton, Ohio! All in all this was a great vacation and neither my wife nor I wanted it to end! We will definitely cruise with Celebrity again as we are booked in November of this year for a 7-night Caribbean cruise on Celebrity Reflection and then again on Celebrity Infinity in February 2017 for the cruise to Antarctica.
