Review summary

Having never been on a cruise, we were not sure just what to expect. When we arrived at port, boarding was streamlined and effecient, and we settled in to visit with some new friends while the buffet was readied for lunch. When we entered the dining room, Wow, we were impressed with the variety and quality of the food. As we sat overlooking the ocean enjoying our lunch, we thought "How lucky can we be!" When we found our stateroom, we were so impressed with our balcony, hor dourves, and fresh flowers, and the accomodations. The activities were fun (my husband especially enjoyed the ping pong and dart tournments) and the ports were so very interesting. Our 40th anniversary was made very special by our first experience of a cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
What a treat to dine with our new friends every night and get to enjoy superior food together. I especially enjoyed having creme brulee' every night!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We throughly enjoyed the accapello harmony of the 4 young men, and all the shows were professionally done. Not being a fan of "Broadway" shows, we always found something to replace.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I have never encountered such friendly staff anywhere. There was always a smile and a greeting, and it made us feel very special. The waiter we had every night was a pleasure to be served by, and our housekeeper went the extra mile to make sure we were happy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The beauty of the ship was only surpassed by the attention to detail that was going on the whole time we were on it.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The location of the stateroom could not have been improved upon, and the overall comfort and condition was totally perfect for us.

Ports of call

Ketchikan, Alaska

We spent some time getting the "freebies"; that was fun. The whole atomosphere of the town was enjoyable.

Don't Miss: Buchard Gardens
