Celebrity Infinity

7 Night Alaska Tracy Arm Fjord (Seattle Roundtrip)

Sail date: July 02, 2010

Ship: Celebrity Infinity

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 13 years ago

Review summary

First time cruisers, although I went NY to Europe and back in 1960. Enjoyed ourselves enough to look forward to a Panama Canal cruise in the future. Probably would try to cruise with 2 or 3 other couples in the future.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food and the service staff were the stars.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very well served, by name, by a professionally trained cabin and wait staff. The captain was able to maneuver the ship through the icebergs as we approached the Tracy Arm Glacier. Very impressive and thrilling.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Some of the furnishings in the suites are becoming dated

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Spacious, well laid out, clean and comfortable, but some of the furniture is at the end of its useful life.

Ports of call

Victoria, British Columbia

Lovely city. Would like to spend more time there.

Ketchikan, Alaska

3 out of 5
In all three ports we were struck with the number of jewelry stores (from the Caribbean) that had nothing at all to do with Alaska.
Don't Miss: Natural beauty

Juneau, Alaska

3 out of 5
We tried, with some limited success, to meet locals to get a flavor of Alaska.
Don't Miss: The glacier

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Met a young lady driver/guide on a tour bus and got a pretty good picture of life in Skagway.

Pros: The crew and the food
