Do a search online for grandstand tickets if you are going on the Mardi Gras cruise. The price for the tickets are much more reasonable than getting them from the ship.

Get to know the ship especially the location of the restrooms. They can be in unusual places. Find your place by the pool early but don't park your stuff on a chair and disappear as the pool staff will remove it after 30 minutes. Best quiet is in the Solarium where no kids are allowed.

Lots of sitting areas for reading/chatting. Great chocolate martinis at Martini Bar. Great deals on the $10 each/buy 4, get 1 free sale. If on open seating for dining, if you find a waiter you like, make reservations for his table for upcoming nights. Enjoy the great entertainment!

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Drinks at Martini bar are fun to watch being made, as well to drink. Gastro Bar was also a great meeting place.

We love the bar on back of ship (15th floor on top of oceanview cafe) best. Non-smokers is on starboard side, has a lawn , not so busy and great chairs plus (bar-) service. We particularly enjoyed Bayley's service and attention. Also ok for day-long sunbathing (on the grass/lawn).

Don't over pack. You will need T-shirts and shorts and not a lot of very dressy clothes.

Be patient. The ship services close to 3000 folks and sometimes there may be food lines or waits for services but it is worth it all. You are experiencing wonderful memories each time you board the Equinox, enjoy!

Don't miss the shows - they are great. Also, bring your workout clothes. The gym is great and you will need it considering all the great food (not to mention the beverages) you will be enjoying. The best frozen drinks are at the pool bar.

When you want a quiet time, the bars , during daytime, are more comfortable than the library. For example, Sky Lounge does not open for drinks until late evening. But in the day time, it has brilliant view of the ocean and it is usually quiet, except at sea day.

There was no good internet connection on board. It's expensive and the speed was slow. There was no iron available. Bring wrinkle free outfit for the formal night.
