Not enough time to do more than one city in an excursion. This results in not seeing much of either. I would focus on one site. We were rushed in both Pompeii and Sorrento and didn't see much of either.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Rome was very crowded, people were not as friendly as other cities, and taxis were difficult to get in the evenings but food was great.
