Review summary

A beautiful visit to lovely islands. People were friendly and the weather was perfect for us. We slipped in between hurricanes. The boat is well maintained and right sized for us with about 2800 guests. Service is impeccable. Food was good. Entertainment in the theatre was top-notch. Certainly enjoyable.

Embarkation

We arrived slightly before our scheduled time and got right on. Was surprised how far parking was (3 blocks) from the terminal and the signage was confusing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We had a drink package for the first time and thus over-indulged but found the range of available drinks on the classic was good. Liked getting fancy coffees (and some with shots) at Al Bacio and the slushee type rum drinks at the Mast bar. I found the choice of desserts disappointing. I love souffles and there were zero. Of course, the fish and lobster entrees were perfect. Soups were inventive (celery and apple) but a bit weird. The staff performed impeccably.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We did progressive trivia and our host Bradley was great and the questions only medium hard. Still, we lost.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The production shows were breath-taking. The dancing and singing really excellent. And the aerial performances were edge-of-the-seat. The guest performers from the comedian juggler to the Stevie Wonder tribute were good too.

Children's Programs

no children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was amazing. We loved our sommelier Sofia and our waiter. Our cabin steward worked with us on our strange sleeping schedules. So nice.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Old ship. But well maintained and pretty decor.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I thought I would be more enamored with the aft cabin but it is some pricier and not worth more than looking sideways off the ship.

Ship tip

Avoid the Lido deck crowds for breakfast and settle for the free pastries and fancy extra-cost coffee at Al Bacio

We planned out our own shore excursion by contacting Quin Farara (find them on facebook) Rum shoppe and distillery. This is a third generation family owned business and Lisa the granddaughter did our tasting and rum punch making demo. It was such a good time getting to know the group there and the rum is fantastic. I recommend that you contact them!

Castries, St. Lucia

We did the catamaran to the drive in volcano and it was a great experience.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Walked away from the ship on this hot day and only made it half way downtown.

Fort-De-France, Martinique

Did a shore excursion to see Mt Pele and the town of St. Pierre that the volcano destroyed in 1902. The drive through the rainforest was pretty.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Don't miss the museum inside the Treasury building.
