Review summary

The itinerary was good. We like longer cruises because we travel from Ohio and want to make the most of it. An overall excellent cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There were a couple of nights when we opted to dine in the cafe because we didn't like the options in the main dining room. The buffet offered a lot of good options from appetizers, to main dishes, to desserts. Having the servers serve the good worked out fine.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I used the outdoor track or the fitness center every day. They were quite good for my needs. We participated in some of the challenges, such as bago and golf. On sea days and on the days when we couldn't go ashore unless we had a Celebrity excursion (two), we would have liked more such activities and more movies. The lectures were of some interest and the variety was good. The lectures on shore excursions and future cruises were both very good.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All of the entertainment was top notch. We especially enjoyed Roy Tan, Greta Salome, and David and Dawn Meyer. The ship's entertainment team were excellent also. Really, all of the artists were excellent; some a bit better than others. Our only complaint is that for us the background/backup music was almost always too loud. It was difficult to hear the featured performance because of it. For example, when David Meyer was playing the ixylosynth, it was hard to hear the notes due to the backup music being too loud.

Children's Programs

No children; we're senior citizens

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Nadeth was our room steward. She was very accommodating and every time we saw her she gave a warm greeting and asked if there was anything we needed. She took great care of our room. Sandeep and Gete served us in the main dining room. They were helpful with menu items and their service was great. In the Ocean View Cafe, all of the servers were eager to help and also provided great service.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All good. Well maintained and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Not a single complaint. Most of our previous cruising has been done with inside cabins. Not any more; we're spoiled. So long as we can afford it, we want to books veranda cabins from now on. Of course, it was quieter than usual around us due to the empty cabins.

Ports of call

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

The small town was a big disappointment. Shopping was very poor and not many sites to see. Perhaps a shore excursion would have been good.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

4 out of 5
We've been to St. Kitts 2-3 times previously and did some nice excursions twice. No excursion this time. Unless you like shopping, Basseterre is not so good.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Castries, St. Lucia

St. George's, Grenada

After we got o nboard we got a letter about which ports were open to us, which required a Celebrity shore excursion, etc. I would liked to have had that information in advance of the cruise when more shore excursions were available. I might have booked Celebrity excursions on Grenada and Antigua. Maybe we should have taken an independent taxi tour on Grenada, but we didn't feel comfortable doing so.

I was on an work assignment for about 6 months in St. Croix in in 1990. I found that Christianstad was the tourist town and Frederickstad was more geared to locals and people down there on business. The hotel I stayed at was full of airline crews and people doing business with the oil refineries. Frederickstad was only a place to enter the island unless you had business there. Of course back then none of the resorts were operational after the effects of Hurricane Hugo which had stalled over the island for a day and the earthquake that occurred in the middle of the storm. I was down there dealing with some people who were trying to exploit the residents trying to rebuild the island.
