Review summary

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise, we feel we got the most out of our time on & off the ship. This is our second Carribbean cruise & we got to see & learn more about the islands this visit. We would definitely consider travelling with Celebrity again. In comparison with Princess who we cruised with before, they were very much on the same level however Princess very slightly had the edge on the food, buffet in particular. Recommendations; Take away some seating around bars to make space for bar service. Management of beds around pool etc definitely needs a serious rethink (we hardly got to use them the whole time) Put some signs up saying eg. unoccupied beds will be cleared after 2 hours or a set time then follow through with it, to give everyone a chance to use them. Have clear instructions in advance, signs etc informing passengers on how to prepare for excursions eg. Passengers assemble in the theatre & one passenger collect numbered stickers for all their party before taking a seat to wait for their number to get called. Instead lots of people wandering aimlessly & staff having to repeat themselves constantly in what passengers should do.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room was beautiful & offered a great selection every day. We tried the speciality restaurants & were well impressed. Good selection in the buffet area however choice was slightly reduced nearer the end of the cruise, same for drinks in some bars. Choice appeared to be specific to individual bars. Martini bar was fab, very accomodating staff. Gastrobar staff not so friendly.

Onboard Activities

Silent disco in the Sky observation lounge was very entertaining, would definitely recommend, not sure if regular discos were on all the time but we didn't really experience it. We visited the casino a few times & were lucky enough to get a few wins!

Stage shows in the theatre were well worth a visit, glad we made the most of them. We also watched a movie in the theatre. Ensemble lounge regularly had good singers on, poolside bands were good too.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff all so pleasant, friendly & accomodating, nothing was too much trouble. Our room steward Benjie deserves a special mention.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Well set out ship, slightly less impressive atrium than previous ship. Common areas kept very well. Bar areas could do with a rethink, too many bar seats leaving no space for people to try to get served if it was busy, would recommend keeping an area clear of seats for service.

Cabin / Stateroom

Benjie did a fabulous job of keeping the cabin clean & well supplied. Bed was very comfortable, good shower, hairdryer supplied.

Ship tip

Organise your trips in advance & make use of all the entertainment available.

We took a bus excursion to Sawgrass mills which was worth doing (although it would definitely a much shorter journey if you planned yourself) when we stayed for a few days before our cruise & we planned and excursion on the Everglades eco adventure once we were off the ship as it was done time before our flight home.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

We did a snorkel excursion which was enjoyable although we didn't see many fish. Honeymoon beach was gorgeous with clear blue water & the rum punch provided by the catamaran staff was plentifully. Really nice entertaining crew members.

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I. Did not visit port

Storm Kirk prevented us from visiting at. croix.

St. John's, Antigua

Castries, St. Lucia

Our best visit. We did the Segway experience which was brilliant, the charming young King along with the quieter Sheldon were our guides. Hamden our tour guide for the remainder of the tour was lovely, both he & the driver had a great rapport. They showed us much of the flora of the island & provided a lot of information, very interesting.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We didn't have an excursion booked for this island, we just took the seavtaxi across the bay & browsed the shops & had a couple if drinks.
