This was a very relaxing cruise. The crowd was mainly retirees as we can take two weeks off when school is in session. We had a lot of Canadians and UK Brits on the cruise in addition to US citizens, and Celebrity catered to the demographic. UPTOWN was "our music" soul and R&B (read Motown!) and Sean O'Shay was golden oldies. As Sean said, he is always asked by young folks why he doesn't do THEIR music and he answers "Because YOU didn't pay for the cruise!" Not totally accurate, but we got the point! Also, Kenneth Stein did a four part series on the US and Russian Space Race, which was the theme of our childhood. Excellent!!!

The MDR was excellent, with great food and our best waiters ever! Kudos to Dave and Michael at table 104!!
The MDR menu selections were varied and prepared perfectly when we had breakfast, lunch, or dinner there so we had no need for a specialty restaurant. The buffet was good, with a good variety of selections for lunch or snacks available after excursions.
Onboard Activities

The four sea day presentations on the US space race were outstanding. We would love more speakers like this on board!

The shows were great, and music was throughout the ship in the evening. We loved the last sea day matinee by the Celebrity Singers and Dancers. UPTOWN was fabulous, as was Sean O'Shea!! The "magician" was pretty lame, though.

Captain Kate was the best Captain EVER!!! First female Captain of a cruise ship!! She is professional, funny, personable, and very approachable. Her two daily announcements were "must hears" with information and humor, including info about her cat, Bug Naked, who was our onboard travel insurance. She was the first Captain out of 19 cruises we have ever had to stand on the gangway as we left to shake our hands and thank us for sailing with her!! We want her as our Captain again!!! We would love to have our steward Max again, and our funny and perfect waiters, Dave and Michael, in the MDR. We loved these, but every crew member was smiling and helpful!!

We kept hearing about shabbiness, but Equinox was as clean and fresh as it was five years ago when we sailed on her. Very well maintained!!

The mattresses need replacing ASAP. Otherwise, it was great!

Yow will have the best Captain ever!!! And don't forget to take plenty of sunscreen!
Tiami catamaran snorkeling excursions are the BEST!!! Great crews and very clean sailing "Cats!" This was our third with them and they never fail to please!!
