Nice ship but over rated and too expensive. I had 2 more Edge Cruses booked and cancelled them for other Celebrity ships.

1st time on a new ship by bikerprice

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Booked this cruise 24 months ago and watched youtube as the ship was being built very excited. The ship has some problems like no real piano bar or someplace where you could just go and enjoy some music and a drink. Most of the specialty restaurants were very high priced. Our sky suite had a rocker which took up too much room, it sat low so hard to get out of the rocker. With the rocker in the room there was no table so room service had to be placed on the bed also no lounge on the veranda just some very uncomfortable chairs so why have a veranda . WE walked out of 2 stage shows just was something we wanted to see. The silent disco was just terrible DJs didn’t have a clue what the people wanted to hear.

I loved the ship but... by Marywho14

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

I loved the ship but definitely did NOT like the entertainment, especially in Eden! For one thing it was THE most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen! If Celebrity is sticking with this type of abstract entertainment in Eden they need to explain what the observers are seeing and interacting with. Plus, if you are dining in Eden during their performance, I don’t appreciate random entertainers bothering me while I’m eating. I was anticipating being entertained, not being involved in the performance, especially when the performers don’t speak any language they just made noises and used hand gestures. I loved our Infinite Balcony stateroom and all the wonderful floor to ceiling windows in the public areas, beautiful design! I’d go back on the Edge but not go to most of the performances in the theater or in Eden. The comedian was the best though, we really enjoyed him!

You can't get there from here. by ld012501

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We just got off the edge a few days ago, my review......the ship is not user friendly...deck 15 aft, offers no protection from the elements, when it rains the sunset bar, smoking area , movie area and cafe simply clear out....full sun no shady area at all....only two smoking sections, one inaccessible to people with mobility issues, the ship is not designed for ease of use, it is beautiful however not fully functional for special needs people. I dubbed the ship, you can’t get there from here! The casino, offers no space to set down a drink, no cup holders or space between the machines. Drinks, including scalding Hot coffee, spill onto the floor, your clothing, inside shoes, etc. There are no visible trash receptacles, so people just leave their used items on tables which are quickly blow away. The pools offered only vertical ladders, again...no ease of entry or exiting the pool. The suite area, "The Retreat", deck 16 forward, also offered no protection from the sun, and is unusable in rainy weather.... The magic carpet was only used as a floating bar,or restaurant, but not used for it’s designated purpose.... Many of the bathrooms were ill kept. Out of toilet paper or hand towels, some restrooms are marked male and female, and in one facility, the open button was dangling from the wall.....(broken, so unusable) To many areas that required you to be able to climb or descend steps to gain entry, just NOT A USER FRIENDLY SHIP

This was my second celebrity... by bobfaw

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

This was my second celebrity sailing, and after all the hype I was eagerly looking forward to the infinity room. I went on its second voyage in January, expecting a five-star experience. The infinity balcony was a grave disappointment. Much tinier than it looked in the pictures. And you couldn't use the shade with the window open. The window dropped down from the top. The balcony itself was barely big enough for a tiny table that held a single plate, and two chairs , with no room to move around them. The sides were all the way out to the end and were opaque Steel. No side views. I bought a premium liquor package because they said Macallan 18 was on it. Only one bar in the entire ship served Macallan 18 and that was down a flight of stairs and I have a bum knee. Way too few bars, spread at the extreme ends of the ship and not much selection or seating room at any of them. My liquor package was a total loss, and I did most of my drinking ashore. The food was mediocre for a cruise ship, including the worst and runniest french onion soup I've ever had, Bland shrimp cocktail, and no Central Dining Room. The four free dining rooms required reservations, which never seemed to be available , so you had to go down and stand around and wait for an opening. There was nowhere to sit near the restaurant while waiting, but they were happy to have photographers out there. Room service had an extremely small and limited selection, and liquor ordered through it was not included on your package. They charged a $4.95 delivery fee for any orders after 11 p.m. and before 6 a.m. The breakfast door hanger varied from day today, although the selection was always the same. We made up things and got them. If you ordered eggs, hash browns, and sausage, they came on three different plates with three different covers, overcrowding the tiny space in the tiny cabin. Very little closet space. And before you come down on me for a negative review and criticize the reviewer, remember this space is for us to give our honest opinion so others can use that, and making their decisions for future cruises. To blatantly build up something that you don't feel is up to Snuff is wrong. To criticize someone for giving their honest opinion is also wrong.

Cabin 11221 - Ship was... by fredspaw

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

Cabin 11221 - Ship was new and beautiful. Very easy to navigate our way around, never felt lost! Infinite veranda is nice but think we missed the more traditional balconies overall. Earlier riser and we sleep with blind up but I would wake up as sun would start rising and close the blackout shade for other half. Unable to sit and enjoy this veranda at that time and would have to go find another place to get my day started.

Celebrity hits a home run with The Edge! by AquamanH20

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We waited 20 months for this sailing as we anticipated this new cutting edge ship. We were not disappointed. Celebrity goes out of there way to please and treats us like adults not idiots. I will remain loyal to Celebrity. I tried Princess once and if that had been my first cruise I wouldn't cruise again. I have already booked another cruise with Celebrity. I don't need all that the Edge has and will be happy with any of their other ships as they are committed to keeping ahead of the competition in class and service.

Found the ship to be... by applekandy80

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

Found the ship to be beautiful. It helps to be electronic savvy with the ship app. The infinity balcony has pros and cons. Room was beautiful and if it cooler outside, nice to sit there and not get cold. It makes the room look bigger and more open. Cons..I still like to actually go outside and feel the breeze and sun. I found the food to be the best I have ever had on a cruise ship. The entertainment was lacking in talent and options. I saw the same kind of acts over and over and music seemed on the lame side. Bought the 3- dinner package a couple of months before departure but not allowed to specify which ones we wanted until actually on the ship. We physically went to the restaurant we wanted first thing after boarding, and the only time left was 10PM dinners. We felt taken advantage of especially since they would not give refund...only ship credit.

I have cruised on 11... by jmance

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

I have cruised on 11 different cruise lines that include Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Holland America, Disney, Costa, Cunard, and Celebrity. This was my 17 cruise on Celebrity (I am an Elite member of Celebrity captain’s club program). I am 47 years old. Ship Info: Celebrity is one of our favorites when we are traveling with just adults. We sailed in January for 7 nights when school was in session, so the average age was probably around upper 60’s. Even if school was out, there usually is not as many children compared to other cruise lines that offer a lot of family activities (water slides, rock climbing walls, etc). The ship was extremely clean. Activities: If you want to take some gym classes (yoga, spinning), you should make reservations on the first day for these classes. They offered an unlimited class program on embarkation day for around $125. I didn’t take any classes; however, I did use the weights every day. I recommend that they get more 8, 10, 12, and 15 lb weights. We love sitting in the solarium pool area because it is peaceful with spa music. If you are NOT looking for a “bar crawl”experience and a variety of pool games, this is a great cruise line for you. Service: Service was friendly in all areas, and it might have been in my top 3 for all around best service. I saw some guests being very rude to employees (screaming at them because they didn’t get the table they wanted), and the employees handled themselves with grace and dignity while trying to calm down the guests. Stateroom: We stayed in a deluxe interior cabin. This was the largest inside cabin I have seen. The lights were by far the best I have seen because you can adjust as needed. Dining: I absolutely loved the four main dining rooms that you can experience for a variety. Before you order your meal, ask the waiter what they recommend. If you don’t like what they brought you, they will bring you something new immediately. Another tip, asked to have the cheese and cracker plate they offer during dessert brought to you before your appetizers so you can enjoy them before your meal. If you don’t like crowds, eat in the main dining room for breakfast and lunch instead of the buffet. The specialty restaurants are excellent too. We made reservations in Eden and La Petite Chef and loved the experience because it was different from other cruise experiences. When I cruise on her again, I am going to try the steak house. If you want to eat in a specialty restaurant, I recommend booking it in advance and not on the same nights as their Evening Chic nights because I find those nights have great menus in the main dining room. To avoid the first day lunch buffet crowd, go to a specialty restaurant when you get on board. The pastries and desserts at Cafe al Bacio are free and very good! Plus, if you have the beverage package, the coffees and teas are included. The solarium also has a small healthy breakfast and lunch buffet in the corner I enjoyed. If you have the premium beverage package, it includes fresh smoothies and juice. Dress Code: They offer two Evening Chic nights, less than 50% were dressed up in a suit/dress. Most people dressed business causal during the dinners. Entertainment: We saw all their evening shows and enjoyed them especially the first night comedian. If you want to see them, they are usually at 7:15 pm and 9:15 pm. The musicians in the bars were excellent, but if you don’t enjoy loud music, keep that in mind because they are louder than other cruises I have experienced. Disembarkation: If you want to carry all your bags off the ship by yourself, they will let you off starting at around 7 a.m. Other: We never got off the ship. We received some devastating news during our cruise that a family member passed away so my heart was broken and I decided to stay on board. The reason I share this is because if I was in such a sad place and still saw this cruise as 5 stars, it goes to show you it was an excellent cruise. Yes, I will cruise on her again, but I will wait until the price goes down. Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

We did a 7 night... by reaganbax

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

We did a 7 night sailing on the western Caribbean. The ship is spectacular. Celebrity have spent so much on making this ship amazing and comfortable. The art work and chairs around the ship make you feel like you’re in luxury. Our room was an infinite veranda room which we thought was great. Lots of room storage and the option for the window to open up. Very private. We had so much fun at the pool and at the different bars around the ship. The food was another step up and so was the entertainment. If you get a chance go do it. You will have a blast.

Our Celebrity Edge cruise was... by phyllisfine

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Edge

Our Celebrity Edge cruise was a big disappointment. The entertainment was the worst we’ve ever experienced on a cruise. After anticipating this cruise for so long, we felt betrayed by the lack of variety and quality of entertainment. We did have excellent service and food, and the ship is spectacularly beautiful. If only the entertainment would have matched the other aspects of the ship. Never again for us on the Celebrity Edge.

Excellent Long expected Was high, up there. Everything about this ship is well thought of. Gone is the large main dining, replaced by four smaller on. Nice, even if we missed the Epernay on the Solstice a bit, but truly very nice
