Wow! by barbnyy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Edge

This was my 1st celebrity cruise and I was really impressed. Overall compared to the other cruise lines, the ship was beautiful. All of the spaces seemed bigger and more open. The casino was non smoking which I so appreciate! Food and drink options were awesome and definitely good quality. Lots of live music.. Overall a more chill experience and and upgraded vibe.

Nice ship, clean and new. That said I felt our cruise last year on the Oasis of the Seas was more in line for our tastes. Will be going back to RC

Our “basketweaving“ cruise! by hunot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The best part of this ship is Captain Kate! First cruise we’ve been on with a female Captain! From her morning announcements to her availability around the ship, she was a joy! I am a basketweaver and joined about 100 others to “Weave on the Edge”. We weaved on our sea days in the Meeting Place conference room. Loved it!

Great trip on the EDGE! by jaydub80

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall it was a great trip. We saw some friends from a past cruise and met many new people! The ship is really amazing and we loved the new style of ship. Clearly, the biggest thing on the Edge is the Magic Carpet. It was not really utilized. One day it was closed because it was windy. When it was open during the day, there was one bartender and they have to bring everything in and there is no running water and they have a large cooler basically, so they did not have as wide of selection as other bars. It was usually pretty dead during the day. At night, it was off Sushi on 5 and I thought it was used for the restaurant. We asked on the last day if we could go out and they said yes, it is open for all and the entrance is down the hall. I don't think anyone knew. There was a small iPad sign but no one was out there. It was great during the post sunset but not dark time. I am being picky here because I loved everything else.

THE BEST SHIP EVER by Fluffychick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I can’t say enough good about the Celebrity Edge. We loved Eden and the rooftop garden. I love that Celebrity doesn’t allow smoking in the casino. The food was fine but nothing really stands out as fantastic. Food is just not that important to us. We love the size of this ship. Great elevators with artwork. They ran so smoothly that we couldn’t even tell we were moving. Loved the artwork throughout the ship. We spent a lot of time exploring the ship, while appreciating the ambience. It was awesome!

A fantastic week by tucksmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge

This was our 5th Celebrity cruise but our 1st time sailing the Edge. It is a beautiful ship. We were a bit disappointed in the shopping choices on the ship. Coach, Tiffany's, Cartier are just a few of the choices in addition to watch and jewelry shops. We didn't try any speciality dining but the food was very good in all the main dining rooms. We did have lunch a couple times in Eden and that was also very good. One of the highlights of this cruise was participating in the vow renewal on Valentine's Day. It was also our Anniversary. As always, our biggest complaint is that the week went by too quick and we are back to reality.

Livin on the edge by BeachChairs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Celebrity, Celebrity, Celebrity.. You touted this ship as the coming of the Lord. Where do I begin? First off, I love most of Celebrity ships and have sailed on most of them. Celebrity sell,s cruise,s because of there reputation of having fantastic food.. So let's start with that. The food was great, no issue's at all. The main issue was going to 4 places to eat every night, unless you bought the specialty package. Problem number 1. No matter if you made reservations to any restaurant, you always waited to be seated, sometimes for 30 minutes.. Next..service in restaurants... Fantastic. We always ordered an extra entree to sample with no issue's.. Next.. Cabin's! We had the infinite veranda cabin.. Sorry, its not a veranda, not even close. They attached 2 sliding doors right past the couch and rug, placed some hardwood floor down with 2 chairs to sit on.. Its a rectangular window that opens up half way from the top to a cross bar that blocks your view.. Problem number 2. There is a cloth screen that is in front of it that has to be raised to lower the window, or closed for more privacy.. So you have to stand there and hold the switch while it slowly opened or closed. Than you repeat the same thing to open your half window..Now when your ready to close the so called veranda, you once again hold the toggle switch and the window slowly raises up making noise and struggling to close back up.. What a stupid idea. Making you stand there holding a switch instead of installing a simple button that did it for you.. Next, the Grand foyer. Most ships have this beautiful stairs that you walk down dressed up in your best attire to the bottom. Not on this ship. It has 2 stairs that lead you to, yeah you guessed it, a bar and a small dancing area.. Next, those bar's and the drinks that come out of them.. Unless you purchased a beverage package, either classic @ 59.00 a DAY, or a premium @ 69.00 per day, you can easily run up a huge tab in one or two days. Example,1 Pina Colada is $9.00, plus $3.00 gratuity, but! if you want a Baily,s say for instance, It,s a $1.00 more.. Celebrity, Celebrity, you have people pay for a drink package and still charge them $5.00 for fresh orange juice plus a gratuity.. Want a Cappuccino? Ha, It,s $5.00 plus gratuity, ridiculous! On sea day number one, the pool and the deck above where full of people sitting on there chairs if they could find one that did not have been saved with someones false teeth or prosthetic leg.. Bar servers? Ha, 1 person above pool deck struggling to take drink orders and 2, maybe 3 at pool, none of which could keep up for bar service .. Next up, entertainment.. At sea day number 1, with all those crowds sweating waiting for there drinks, it was around 230 maybe 3 pm when someone said, where is the music? It was dead silent for most of the day, sort of like a funeral setting.. Than finally, some female starts singing but most people where leaving to once again stand in line to be fed..Night entertainment.. In the Theatre it was average, but one of the best highlights was the four tenors Vox Fortura who sang opera twice that week, they where fantastic.. Excursions, Most cancelled because of bad rough seas, causing people who booked on there own to lose there money of what ever they where going to do when the ship sailed buy Costa Maya and headed to Cozumel. I,ll be back later with more..

EDGE great ship but getting us to by hwkldla

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Preliminary remark: We have 40 cruises behind us; 20 of them with Celebrity cruises. We know any ship of the Millenium class and the Soltice class too. Now we were at the EDGE for the first but not the last time. Many things on the ship take getting used to; not in a negative sense. Pros: Ship: equipment, cleanliness, etc. - excellent Cabin: equipment, cabin service, cabin cleanliness, the new "balcony feeling" - everything excellent Restaurants: 4 main restaurants; we preferred Tuscany - food, service - very good Service: waiter Sheldon, Haluk (wine waiter) and Meta excellent. Cons: Restaurants are almost always crowded Pool: Guests reserve several sun loungers early in the morning. From 9 a.m. there is no longer a couch; especially on sea days. Loungers are reserved and unused for hours. Seating areas: almost always occupied. Guests put their feet on other seating and also on the tables !!! Real story: Jep Bush and George W. Bush visited their mother Barbara Bush (great lady). Georg W. sat down and put his feet on the table. Then Barbara said please take your feet off the table. Then Jep says: Mother, that's the president. Barbara replied: I don't care that I don't like to have any feet on the table.

The Celebrity Edge by a2brutea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Edge

The Celebrity Edge is awesome! The Oceanview café buffet had an excellent selection of food. I was totally impressed with the wide array of selections. All were delicious. I loved the outside bar at night on the fifteenth deck with the breeze from the ocean. Jerome and Marlon did a great job serving cocktails. Lobster night was one of my favorite meals prepared on the ship. We loved our waiter Pedro in the cosmopolitan restaurant. He suggested the best appetizer and dessert. His personality was so friendly and his attentiveness made the evening. He was my favorite server. In the Normandie Restaurant our waiter Mynor was terrific. He also had a great personality and did an awesome job serving! The food in the restaurant Eden was unique and flavorful. The ambience in the restaurant created a very special experience. The food was amazing.! I recommended it to everyone I saw on the ship. I also ate at the Steak House, and the filet mignon was cooked to perfection. The thermal spa area was relaxing and well worth the money spent. The only tip I would like to recommend is to get better locks on the lockers. They were difficult to use, and many people could not open them and had to call the receptionist. This is a state of an art ship with great electronics and digital functions. The locks on the lockers need to be replaced with something better. The celebrity edge is a fantastic ship. The crew makes it come to life. They let you know that they want you to have a good time, and they go out of their way to help you. The infinity verandas are really cool. It makes the room so much bigger. Also, we enjoyed our room service as we sat looking out at the ocean with the window down. Many of the guests hog the chairs in the morning, and when they leave, they do not put their dirty towels in the bin. You can’t tell what chair is used or not used.Of course, that is not the ships fault.

Ship: Celebrity Edge

Wow!! This was our first cruise but definitely isn’t our last. The ship is amazing, staff are so friendly, our room steward was awesome, food was delicious, beverages were cold. Definitely a trip of a life so much so we booked Apex next year. Only small beef was sun loungers getting booked early with bags and towels then no one comes and if you need shade hard to find as everything is taken. I am so grateful to the staff who helped make our first cruise such a memorable one. 💜
