Review summary

Had surprisingly great weather - 50’s -70’s. 99% adults. Southern Alaska pretty, but crowded ports lessened our experience. Ship great and we love Celebrity as a cruise line.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Very simple. Shuttle from hotel. Luggage check-in outside a bit of a cluster, but all else went well.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Lots of location options. Food above average. Too many specialty restaurants and they were often under-utilized. Casino bar our favorite bar; could watch sports and hear music from the martini bar.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots of options. Trivia of all kinds. Nice variety of shows - music, theatre, acrobatic, comedian, magician. Pool not used much as it was chilly outside. App useful but slow to update.

Entertainment

Children's Programs

No kids in our party

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Generally very nice. A lot of outside space not used as much on an Alaskan cruise as it would have been on a Caribbean cruise. Mid-deck area with lots of entertainment and bars hard to get seats sometimes; needed second area like it.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Roomy. Great storage, mostly hidden from view. Suitcases fit under bed. Closet and number of hangers nice. Big TV. Nice phone cord box. Balcony added indoor space until we opened the window (which is what it felt like vs. a balcony).nice lighting options. Bed comfortable. Bathroom nice and shower big. Toilet flush loud.

Ship tip

Dint do Anytime Dining. You want a specific time to eat.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
Did activities on own. Space Needle, Chululy Glass, Chinatown, Pike’s Market, etc.

Ketchikan, Alaska

3 out of 5
Not a lot to do except walk around and see totem poles and salmon in the stream. Very crowded with 4 ships in port and 13,000 residents.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

5 out of 5
Best part of trip. Beautiful scenery, but expected to see glaciers calving and we’re not in the right area for that.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Took excursion to Mendenhall Glacier abs whale watching. Loved both. The walk to get close to the waterfall and glacier is 2.3 miles round trip on a path. Easy walk but there were people on the trip that were not aware of that and so saw it only from the Visitor Center. Also over-crowded. Saw 10 whales from a big boat. Limited food and drink for the day and gone about 6 hours.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
Also crowded. Rode train. Beautiful sights. Important to sit on the right side of the bus on the way up, and the right side of the train on the way down if the bus ride is first. If train ride is first, sit on left. Ate at Skagway Brewing Co., which was good.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

3 out of 5
Pretty but not like the first section. Happened the evening after we were in Skagway all day.

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

Wasn’t feeling well. Had intended to walk around town. Great sunset visible from room.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The best ever. Bags picked up after 11pm. Easily findable in our group section after getting off ship. Ample transportation nearby.
