Stunning Views - shame about the crew by DeepFriedMal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The ship is lovely with real grass, large seating and the normal things to do, however for us, the cruise was let down by the staff catering for 500 travel agents rather than the guests.

Nice ship great staff by nelson69

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Nice cruise n great ports of call. The restriction placed on the stay in st Petersburg made it a marginal port at best. Breakfast was fantastic, lunch good and dinner ok. We would have liked more early hours dancing. The music by the pool was terrible. N there was so much Chorline in the hot tubes that it bleached out our suits n burned our skin. The staff was great n helpful n mostly friendly. Some of the bar staff needed a personality but u can't have everything.

A great cruise by johnpritchard

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The Eclipse is just a really great ship. We just did back to back cruises and had a wonderful time. The food was just outstanding (thank you Master Chef Paul) and the presentation was impressive. There was a good variety of entertainment and the casino was a barrel of fun with just a great staff of friendly dealers. The ship was CLEAN and the cabin stewards we had were efficient and a joy to converse with.

Great cruise by dulceduo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Beautiful ship, very clean. Lots of helpful staff everywhere. Good entertainment, food a bit disappointing this trip. Not enough sticky buns, for instance. Dining room is a disaster. It was like the school cafeteria and SO noisy none of the guests could comfortably visit. We moved tables to see if that would help, but, if anything, it was worse. Poorly designed sound control.

Relax, enjoy by MommaW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Transatlantic

I took this trip with my 92 year old mother. Every step of the way, she was treated like a queen, and she loved every minute of it. Our balcony room was comfortable, and our room steward, Mandella, was a doll. Every evening, as we headed to dinner, he miraculously appears to offer Mom his arm and escort her to the elevator. Thou we had freedom dining, we usually sat at the same table with our new friends. mom's cushion was waiting for her each evening. the wait staff was attentive and courteous. We made friends with other singles and had a lot of laughs over dinner. The food was bland, I must say, probably due to the head chef being a Brit. Portions were humungous: the lamb shank was as big as my shank! We avoided the shows because, as usual, they are too loud. I put cotton in my ears one evening, and that made it about right. But the show quality was poor. The Corning Glassworks on the upper deck was a great amenity.

Calm Crossing by mycynthia

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Transatlantic

This was my wife and I's second year in a row on the Eclipse's transatlantic crossing. Last year was a rough crossing - so rough that we couldn't get into Cork, Ireland. This year the Atlantic was a mill pond. A great cruise. The entertainment was the best we've ever seen on a cruise ship. The food was superb, the dining room and cabin staff were exemplary. The boarding and disembarcation process were faultless. Only one problem. We had as usual a balcony cabin - deck 6 - midships - less rolling in heavy seas. Only one complaint. The shelving, wardrobe, drawers and storage in the cabins is pathetic to say the least. When we docked in Southampton we flew to Tome and a few days later we boarded the Navigator of the Seas - (also owned by Celebrity. The balcony cabin shelving, wardrobe, drawers and storage in that ship was excellent. The Eclipse's storage is a 2 door shelf above the bed - what a joke. The best cabin storage is on the Norwegian Line - which by the way should have the poorest clothing wardrobes since the whole ship is casual. My wife and I bring a lot of clothes when we cruise with Asmara, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. Their formal nights are wonderful. Storing clothes on the Eclipse is difficult - the Silhouette has the same problem.

An outstanding Cruise by JohnU1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My brother lives in Tokyo so, needless to say, we do not see each other very often. He and his wife were aboard this Cruise for their 1st Cruise experience. Both my brother and I agreed that we could have not had a better place to \"rebond\" that 14 days on the Celebrity Eclipse.

Great people on a Trans-Atlantic by bobbleczinski

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Transatlantic

Celebrity as a brand maintains high standards in a cruise experience. The ship is fabulous, and the service generally great. I was surprised it all seemed to fall apart on the last day, but that might just be coincidence. The entertainment has some gems, but overall, seemed rather \"average\" compared to what I've seen them do before. I met several fantastic other travellers who truly bonded as we formed a group of almost 20 to enjoy the experience together.

Wonderful cruise, with good ports of cal by cjg85375

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We were not sure if we would enjoy cruising for such a long period of time.. very plesantely surprised. we enjoyed ourselves very much. The room was spacious and space for everything we brought. We were in Conciege level and enjoyed the fresh flowers, fruit and canapes' every afternoon. The cabin steward was marvelous and we had chosen the Select dining for this trip. What a marvelous experience. it gave us the chance to meet every so many more people and we came at a time when we could enjoy the same head waiter every nite. We also enjoyed the new luggage valet at the end of the trip. It made debarking such a luxury.. although we really hated to go. Would definitely go again.

14 days too long? NO WAY! by rmann45708985

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Caribbean

The ship is absolutely beautiful and the staff was all very caring. We made use of the spa for a couple things, and they too were wonderful. However, we did not appreciate the pressure to buy their products at a somewhat high price. The entertainment was very good and there was quite a variety. We did find one or two of the individual performers to be a little crude for audiences that included children. We did find our cabin to be a little short of closet and drawer space for the longer 2 week cruise.

Celebrity Eclipse - Not worth the Hype by Mike

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We just returned from an 8 day cruise on the Celebrity Eclipse. This was our second Celebrity cruise and was much anticipated. We decided to splurge and stayed on the Concierge deck. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! The incentives for the Concierge deck are promised, but not delivered. Flowers in your room constitute a flower in a bud vase in the bath and bedroom. Fruit was delivered daily, but no different from the fruits available throughout the ship. As for the hor doeuvres, forget about it..slices of cucumber with processed cheese spread do not resemble any hor doeuvres Ive ever seen. There was no special embarkation and as for debarkation, we were given luggage tags with 60 the last to be taken off the ship. We booked in the 3 specialty restaurants. Qzine was good, a little complicated having to order off the I-pad, but we had no complaints with the food, Tuscany was awful; 3 out of the 4 at our table did not like the steaks. They serve a seafood soup that had mussels and the menu did not disclose this. My sister is allergic and was quite upset after she started eating the soup and found a large mussel. Murano was the saving grace.it was fantastic. When my husband booked the dinner reservations with Celebrity and inquired about a package, he was told none was available. When we boarded, we bought the wine package to accompany our dinners. When we got to our stateroom, the daily paper advertised 3 dinner or 5 dinner packages at a substantial savings. It took the entire week to get this straightened out and it was as if they were doing us a huge favor. The dining room food was barely adequateon par with a Carnival cruise and certainly not what I remembered from my previous Celebrity cruise. Dishes were greasy, food not hot and mediocre in taste. My husband is diabetic and no sugar free desserts were on the menu. The daily buffet was plentiful, however, if you are health conscious, there was very little available. No sliced fresh turkey breast, only process

Need more tables for two. by CondoKing

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Transatlantic

Our biggest complaint was that we are a couple that likes to dine alone and with some privacy. Just about every restaurant on the ship, including the main dining room, had tables for 2 that were on top of other people. We could not carry on a private conversation. The Italian Steak House was the only one that we could be just the two of us at dinner. We asked for a table for 2 but they always gave us a table on top of other people. The ship was large enough for real "tables for 2". But there were a lot of very good wine tastings. And the wine dispenser open 24 hours a day was super!
