Review summary

I loved this cruise. It was our first Celebrity cruise and we will definitely go on another of their cruises again. Sea days and port days were equally enjoyable and that has a lot to do with the ship and it’s staff. The ports of call were amazing. Each beautiful in its own way. The vibe, from scenery to dinner dressing options, were casual and allowed you to just enjoy the whole trip with serenity and wonder. No doubt will come back to Alaska cruising again. It is very clear now why people do this cruise over and over again!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The staff were all amazingly friendly and helpful. The food, regardless of buffet, dining room, specialty restaurants and little cafe were all delicious, fresh, bountiful. If you’re a foodie Celebrity is the cruise line for you!

Main Restaurant

Thank you Giovanni, Ronald and Gully. The food was always delicious and served to our liking. With that being said, you 3 made the experience that much better! Such attention to detail. You made us feel like we were your only diners even though you were attending to so many others!

Cafe al Bacio and Gelateria

Like being in a cafe anywhere in the world. Great selections of coffees and treats!

Champagne Bar / Martini Bar

One of my favourite bars. The bartenders were all amazing! Never had to wait long for your drinks.

Guest Relations And Excursions

We had only one small glitch and it was taken care of immediately. Guest relations people were friendly and very helpful. Did not encounter line ups ever. Getting on/off the ship was quick and very organized.

Entertainment

The evening shows were spectacular and well put together!

Celebrity Theater

Not a bad seat in the house. Shows were some of the best we’ve seen and Alejandro the cruise director was phenomenal. His energy came through in all activities.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia Did not visit port

We embarked in Vancouver and spent a few days before visiting Squamish. Whistler. In May the gondola is usually closed so we did the sea to sky in Squamish. But if you do get a chance go to whistler to do the gondola ride when open. You will not regret it.

Ketchikan, Alaska

One of the highlights. Did the Mystic afjords Cruise. The tour guides and boat were perfect for this type of experience. Plenty of room, refreshments were yummy, especially the chowder and the sights were breathtaking!

Sitka, Alaska

Very small town. We did an excursion here to the raptor Center. They do amazing work there and it was interesting.

Skagway, Alaska

In Skagway there are many ways to follow the Klondike Hwy trail. I heard the railroad was a beautiful way to see the surroundings. As there were 4 of us we opted to rent a car from Avis. It was convenient to pick up near port and we were able to go as far as Whitehorse and back. They even gave us a detailed map and route suggestions where to stop. We got back I. Plenty of time to relax before leaving port.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Went to do bear watching and didn’t see bears. It happens at times. We did go whale watching and saw many whales, sea lions. Very small place with a very indigenous spirit. They are looking to put another dock in and quite honestly it was very busy with just one going through. Loved the charm and real flavour of the land from the guides.

Juneau, Alaska

A must see! Whale watching and salmon bake was our day. I regret not going to Mendenhall Glacier as it is receding so quickly and will soon be gone.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

5 out of 5
We did not stop. Just went through. Too much ice formation on the water to get too close safely.

Victoria, British Columbia

We were a party of 4. Took a cab for 40 dollars including tip one way to go to Butchart Gardens. A Must see. So beautiful and peaceful.
