Review summary

The service and gorgeous ship as well as almost all the ports of calling being awesome saved this cruise. And the fact that I was happy to spend my free time relaxing and reading by the pool because the activities and entertainment leave much to be desired.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy, but we were in AquaClass with our own line. The regular line was pretty long and slow.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at Blu, the restaurant for the AquaClass rooms, and it was great. We went to a speciality restaurant one night and it was superb. We went to the main dining room for lunch twice and it was solid but nothing to write home about. A little loud and crowded, slower less personal service. food was not as good but still fine.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
A lot of the activities revolved around selling you things. A whole hour seminar on metabolism where I was hoping to learn something and what I learned is that they would really like to see me $200/month worth of cleansing tea. The activities guide seems to be packed with things but when you look closely a lot of them are sales at different stores. When you cross out activities that are not trying to see you things, a lot less is left. That said, I loved the pilates classes and the glass blowing!

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Five stars to the three acrobats - they made the entertainment. Otherwise I was underwhelmed by the cast dancers and singers. Of the one-off acts that they brought on, one comedian (the second one) was funny but the first was not. Maybe I missed the humor because a lot of the jokes were British pop culture references (certain towns' cultural reputations, politicians, companies, etc) and I have no idea what they were talking about. The specialty singers were probably great for the older crowd but I was bored.
