If you want an Italy intensive itinerary this is it. The onboard ship staff is excellent in all phases! The only negative I would comment on is the overall level of communication from Celebrity could use some improvement. If you don't know the exact questions to ask about pre-cruise transfers, various timing details for excursions, and availability of different logistic aspects of events related to the cruise, you may not get the answer. Now having cruised once with Celebrity, I believe the next cruise would run much smoother from beginning to end, but even so, I would still rate the overall cruise an 8/10.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Delayed transportation resulted in missing the embarkation day process, but I had to submit a rating for this review..
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Staff was excellent and attentive!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Didn't partake in any of the ships extra activities, just relaxed and enjoyed the itinerary. But there did appear to be the usual extra cruise activities that many enjoyed.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Some were better than others, but all were good.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
For the most part the staff was excellent with a few miscues along the way, but you can't expect perfect..
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship's layout was a little different from other ships we have been on, but still easy to navigate. The cleanliness was top-notch, but the ship did show some age in certain areas. Overall, well kept.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Very comfortable room, nice balcony, and kept spotless by the room steward.
Ship tip
There is an ATM on Deck 3 Aft if you need to exchange U.S. dollars for Euros
A small village setting with a beautiful coastline and landscape. If you like history, beautiful photo opportunities, and can make the hike up to Brown Castle it is worth the great photos.
The history of Florence, the amazing artwork, and the architecture are the main draws, but as expected travelling here during summer means elbow to elbow people.
This is a can't miss for history buffs, but I would return in the fall for less people and an easier navigation of the various areas. The Vatican City is a must see in my opinion.
Well conducted. One note, if you are travelling to Rome via the local train on your own, there is an inexpensive public shuttle away from the Celebrity hustle and bustle to the far left of the pier as you walk out of the terminal and then left again as you clear the building. There is a posted sign at the pick up location.
