Celebrity Century Panama Canal Cruise

Sail Date: January 20, 2014

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Balcony

This was a wonderful cruise. Our agent, April Blais, did a marvelous job setting up our trip. Although the ship, Century, is showing her age, the staff and crew were outstanding. The Panama Canal itself was fascinating and not to be missed.

Ship Quality
Disappointed in the overall quality and care of the ship in general; frayed carpets, chipped wood, stained furniture, balcony furniture old , deck furniture needed "whitening" etc. That said, the ship was always clean and staff more than helpful w/ any complaint.
Food and Dining
Cabin / Stateroom
Always clean but the rooms are worn and outdated.
Service and Staff
Children's Programs Did not use.
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions
We would have enjoyed visiting additional ports.
San Diego, California
We were preregistered and boarded easily. Spent a few days in San Diego prior to sailing.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Took a boat ride. NO town.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Interesting town w/ history.
Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala
Disappointed. Wish we hadn't stopped. Walked off the ship, turned around and walked back onto the ship.
Puntarenas, Costa Rica
Rain forest, lots of nature.
Panama Canal Transit
Colon, Panama
Took an tour of the Canal.
Cartagena, Colombia
Much different than we expected. Wish we were given more time here,
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
Departing the ship was swift and easy. Thank you, Celebrity!

The size of the Century is perfect. This cruise had an older population possibly due to the Panama Canal destination. We had a 7:00 pm Select Dining reservation every evening and it was ideal for catching the 9:00 show. Our meals were outstanding.
