Review summary

Mt wife and I were more than satisfied with the level of care and expertise we experienced on Celebrity's Century. Our stateroom was comfortable; the food was outstanding; and the hospitality extended by every crew member we met was superb. We think someone is doing an excellent personnel-training job at Celebrity. The equipment in the gym was fine, and we used it every day. The two people who staffed the gym were knowledgeable and cordial. At first we were a little disappointed that the time we chose for dinner was changed from 6 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., but it worked out okay. The food didn't begin arriving until 6 p.m. anyway, and that's when we have dinner when we're at home. The portions served were far more sensible than what is served in most American restaurants, and the quality of the food was top level. Our food server, nicknamed Spike, was one of the nicest persons we've ever met and a first-rate dining room attendant. Bravo. The two men in charge of the specialy restaurant Murano, Pascal and Carlos, were models of elegance and graciousness. It didn't hurt that they're both good-looking! Our cabin attendant, Mohammed, was marvelous as was his assistant Juaquin. The ship was spotlessly clean everywhere. The shore trips were well planned and well-run. The vehicles they employed were comfortable and clean. The guides were friendly and helpful. The entertainment was top-flight. Especially impressive were a male and female adagio team: Dmitri and Lilu (whose real name is Auriole). Bravo. Also memorable were a quartet of young Swedish men who sang every evening, and sang very well. Another Bravo. The crossing through the Panama Canal was everything we hoped it would be, and more. What a feat of engineering. A definite "marvel." All in all, a spectacular fifteen night cruise on the Celebrity Century. What a fantastic trip. We hope to cruise with Celebrity again.
