We took the Costa Maya Beach Day excursion offered by CruisesOnly. It was a huge walk from the ship, it wasn't unlimited snacks as advertised, the beach was ugly, with five feet of ankle deep seaweed to walk through before the water. Lounges were overcrowded and hawkers were nonstop - 2 or 3 per minute! We left after 10 minutes. What a waste!

I agree, last time we were there we left the port to escape the chaos & explored the ruins which were amazing
