Loved the ports, but I don’t think Celebrity is the cruise line for us. We are Royal Caribbean fans and will probably stick to them in the future.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Barcelona was the easiest embarkation and debarkation I’ve ever experienced.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food in Eden is fantastic and worth the charge. Le Petit Chef is a must if you have kids.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Less activities than other cruise ships I’ve been on. Definitely an older crowd on this ship. My daughter is 12, and she got bored on sea days.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows were very good. However, there isn’t multiple venues to chose from. The theater show is at 7:30 and 9:30. The show changes each night.

Cabin / Stateroom

The room and bathroom was very nice. There is a ton of storage. We had an infinite veranda and we loved it. My parents had the adjoining room and they prefer a traditional balcony. So I guess it’s preference. I will say, the adjoining room doors are very heavy and they don’t stay open, if you’re thinking about it for kids. The showers are bigger than you typically get on a cruise.
Ship tip
If you are traveling with kids, I’d probably pick a different ship.
We booked the Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri Island tour through Celebrity. If I was to do it again, I’d skip Pompeii. It was so hot and very different than I was expecting. Capri is amazing. I would definitely recommend going there. We didn’t get a ton of time in Sorrento, we just had time to eat lunch. So we didn’t see much of Sorrento. Food was soo good though!
We did not book a tour. We took the ferry, which is right where the boat tenders, to Portofino and San Frutuosso. Portofino is beautiful. San Frutuosso is super cute and has a beach. But it’s super crowded and no sand, only rocks. So I would take water shoes. You can also reserve in advance chairs and umbrellas for 45 euros. We didn’t know that and they were all reserved for the day. We hung out in the restaurant/bar instead because there was no space on the rocks. But we did swim in the Mediterranean.
We took the train into Rome that Celebrity offers. Then booked a Colosseum tour and a Vespa tour through a 3rd party. It was unbearably hot and we skipped out on the Colosseum tour after an hour. The Vespa tour was one of the best things we did the whole week. It was so much fun and an easy way to see Rome on a super hot day.
Our excursion was cancelled (not through the ship) so we took the shuttle to the downtown area. There is a mini train by the port area. It was cheap and gave a little tour of the city and took you to Notre Dame on the top of the hill. Fantastic views of the city and Mediterranean!!
We booked our own tour to Pisa and Cinque Terre. It was a long day, but it Cinque Terre is beautiful. Pisa was a long ride and we weren’t there for very long. Think I would skip Pisa next time. The tour guide said we were smart not to go for Florence. They said it’s so hot right now we be miserable.
Our tour was cancelled (not booked through the ship) so we ended up booking a last minute excursion to Nice and Saint Paul de Vence. It was okay. A lot of time on a bus. I though we’d be walking around Nice. It was a bus tour through Nice and walking around Saint Paul de Vence. I wouldn’t chose that tour again.
@iamdeedra the ship was an older crowd and not a ship for kids. Also, there wasn’t a ton of activities on the ship. Far less than what we’re used to on RCCL.
