Review summary

Great ship, good food, great service and exceptional entertainment!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
A bit disorganized at the onset of the process, but we arrived 1 1/2 hours before our scheduled time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Most main dining rooms were good venues, with good to great food and a reasonable up charge option for up graded food selection options making the main dining area a reasonable place to upgrade your options versus having to go to a specialty restaurant for an in my opinion an inflated cover charge plus 20%. We did go to the specialty steakhouse restaurant one night with a discounted pre cruise special price and had a pretty tasty 2 inch prime rib cut and the wife and succulent 9 ounce steak tenderloin. Buffet food quality was great, lots of options and plenty of employee staff smiles and service.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Did little other than a little shopping and relaxing by the pool. Did go on the treadmill on several days at the fitness center which was well equipped with plenty of options.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We have done approximately 12 cruises over time and this cruise undoubtedly, with one or two exceptions over 12 days, had by far the best stage shows we have experienced. This class of ships the Apex belongs to has created a wonderful theatre venue with state of the art production options contributing to the effectiveness of the stage shows. The top notch entertainers were consistently expressing their appreciation of both the Celebrity musicians and production technicians for their quality support in helping present their show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All good, spoke to several employee service personnel expressing they love working on this particular Celebrity family of ships as they are more employee friendly in helping them carry out their required day to day actives.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was squeaky clean days 1 thru 12 and never felt like one carrying 3000 passengers as for the most part there was no lines and no waiting. Even the excursion disembarkation process, with the exception of one day, had little to zero waiting time to get on and off the ship. Well designed ship helping minimize access to various entertainment options.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved the infinite veranda, it provided the occupants with additional living area air conditioned space while offering a balcony type feel option by opening the upper portion of the window enclosure. Most impressive features of the room were a roomy shower area and ample space to store your belongings. King size bed also very comfortable and exterior noise level virtually a zero.

Ship tip

Realize there is no internet service available unless you pay approximately $25/day per device.

Ports of call

Rotterdam, Netherlands

3 out of 5
Okay, seemed like things a little disorganized.

La Rochelle, France

3 out of 5
Just took a ride into town.

Lisbon, Portugal

4 out of 5
Better larger cities. Excursion to Sintra was nice.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

5 out of 5
Could have used more in port time to visit the real jewel in the area Seville more comprehensively.

Cartagena, Spain

3 out of 5
Better than a day at sea I guess.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
Lots of money on this island and an upscale feel when venturing into the city.

Valletta, Malta

4 out of 5
Okay, needed a place to stop to break up the sailing distance from Palma de Majorca to Athens.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and timely!
