Carnival Vista offered many great amenities and the cruise director Savannah was fantastic. Food in the MDR and buffet were super disappointing. Also disappointed with room steward efforts and the condescending treatment we received related to our problematic toilet.

MDR and buffet food was redundant, tasteless, and disappointing. Minimal selections. Thankfully this ship had other food options outside of MDR and buffet which helped offset the disappointment. Did one night with specialty dining- steakhouse service was solid and food had the most taste we experienced during the entire cruise.

Comedy club was amazing, lots of fun trivia, live music, shows, and activities with the cruise director and her fun squad. Very enjoyable!

Room steward was not attentive. Room was never fully cleaned. Just not impressed. Waiters in the MDR were clearly being worked above capacity, service was slow, sometimes with a stressful smile. Buffet staff were friendly!
Ship Quality

Ship layout was easy to handle and quick to learn your way around. Flow was good with no major back-ups typically. Common areas were clean overall. AC never seemed to work well in several areas of the ship though. Buffet areas were hot and humid. Room was always humid. Other areas of the ship were very warm and humid during various times of day.
Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin size and arrangement was nice for two people. Our toilet kept getting plugged up and we were instructed to throw all toilet paper in the garbage can and not to flush. This is a disgusting request. Bed linens were soft and comfortable. Bed was made into a king bed; the center never really fit well together between the two twin beds. The balcony was amazing in size and position. Will never cruise without a balcony again. This balcony fits two standard chairs, small table, as well as a lounger. So nice to have the private outdoor space!
Ship tip
Be sure to download the Carnival Hub app. This will give you everything you ever need and want to know about everything on the ship- easy to navigate and quick to find exactly what you need. I.e. open food options, MDR reservations so you're not standing in line, all activities, etc
Walked the port and everyone was very friendly, made us feel welcome to stroll. Took a guided tour of the town which was an amazing experience into local life. Will do again!
Sorry you didn't have a good time. Got off Vista on July 9 and none of the problems you had. The food was awesome and waiters very friendly and helpful..room steward was outstanding...for them to be shorthanded we had excellent service on all levels..again sorry you had a bad time.
