Great cruise--so glad to be back! Made cruise addicts out of some friends who went which is a bonus. Would recommend the ship and itinerary!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Fast and organized! Excellent pre-cruise communication by Carnival and port staff were great!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The MDR was fantastic-Ozzy and our servers made our cruise! Steakhouse was great too. Everything was clean, food was really good and we had no complaints anywhere.
Redfrog Pub and Brewery
5 out of 5
Did the brewery tour and enjoyed that. Lots of time spent playing cards both indoors and outdoors here on this cruise!
Havana Bar
4 out of 5
cool venue but really COLD every time we went in there. Latin band was super fun in this location!
BlueIguana Cantina
5 out of 5
Yummy! Breakfast burritos and arrapas were great!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Serenity Deck is a favorite-we spent time up there every day. Pools/hot tubs were colder than we prefer. Spa was nice but be prepared for the hard sell every time you go near it. Due to cold temperatures and rocky seas, some things were not available for safety reasons. We did do the IMAX theatre one chilly afternoon and saw West Side Story. It was easy to buy tickets-bring along your own beverage if you don't want beer though!
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Savannah the cruise director filled in last minute and did a good job. Due to Covid illness, we didn't have any production shows which was a major bummer. It left a big gap in the evening entertainment options. Comedians were ok. The Latin band was fantastic--we listened to them many times along with the solo/duo acts in the lobby bar areas. The piano bar was not the best especially once he added in pretaped background music-it got really loud and frankly, annoying.
Ocean Plaza
5 out of 5
This is a really nice location to chill, play cards, listen to music, grab a snack/drink/coffee and always had something going on. It's well located for indoor/outdoor access too.
Children's Programs
We didn't have children with us so cannot comment on programming.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff were amazing! They worked so hard to keep the ship clean, tend to whatever you needed and be friendly. Our steward Achmad was great and we cannot recall a single crabby or unhelpful staff member from buffets, bars, restaurants, cabins or just in general. They work incredibly hard!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The Vista class layout takes getting used to and a bit of time to orient to but once you have it, it's not a big deal. The staff kept things incredibly clean and the ship overall is in good repair and well kept. No complaints at all!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Spa balcony cabin was super clean and quiet. Size was the same as a regular balcony. While we liked our steward and the cabin, I think we'd book on Deck 10 or 11 balcony and just buy the day pass for the spa. We didn't like the hard sell by spa staff standing in the elevator lobby every time we went by even though we liked the spa access. Maybe because the ship wasn't full they had fewer clients so they were trying to fill calendars but it detracted a bit.
Ship tip
To avoid the elevator wait on floors 11, 12 and 14 use the exterior stairs that face the Lido area. Super easy to get around and you can avoid the Spa sales!
Spent the day at Nachi Cocum Beach Club--great food, service and we love the quiet atmosphere there. Also, they limit the number of bookings a day so it's always smaller and more intimate. Taxis are easy to grab and it's a short 10 minute ride from port.
Did the Carnival excursion Train Ride and learned a lot about Belize. Nice lunch at Lazy Lizard restaurant with shopping. Tender boats were no big deal. Would do a beach excursion next time.
Roatan is beautiful. Explore Roatan Tours did a full Island tour with rum, chocolate, shopping, beach and sloths/monkeys for us. John our guide was wonderful and we loved our day!
Facial recognition is wonderful! Porters had our luggage ready and we were off the ship in about 20 minutes after our number was called. Carnival transport to airport was waiting and we'd use it again!
