Review summary

My wife and I have been on multiple cruises, mostly on Carnival. We had 4 other couples join us who were first time cruisers and I think we were successful in converting them to be new Shipmate’s.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Extremely easy despite the Covid restraints. Had our documents ready including vaccines and 48 hour Covid tests and they validated and we moved on in the process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I would say the main dining room menu and quality of food was underwhelming but rate the 555 Fahrenheit Steakhouse with 5 stars.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The ship was at less than 50% capacity and there were minimal children on board so the pools and access to loungers was awesome. I want Covid gone but loved the less people.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Punchliner comedians were good. Since we hung out at Tides Pool we did not hear music at the Lido Pool. We always ended up at the Ocean Longe as that’s where the good bands were playing.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every crew member was extremely positive and helpful from room steward to bartender to dining room staff. All were excellent.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved the Vista and it’s layout. You couldn’t ask for a cleaner ship as the crew was constantly in cleaning mode.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I have never been disappointed in a balcony room with Carnival. Our room was next to our great friends and we had the balcony partition opened so that we could enjoy coffee and drinks together. And we never crossed the imaginary property line.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
We came in 2 days early and stayed at the Tremont. This is close to the Strand where there are plenty of things to do before embarkation day. We mostly enjoyed the restaurants and bars.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
This is probably the best port. We did a zip line here a few years back and this time our group(10) enjoyed a day on the beach at a friends condo in West Bay.

Belize City, Belize

1 out of 5
Unless you have an excursion just stay on the ship and enjoy your Cheers package. Nothing to see here folks.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Another place to do an excursion to really experience what the island has to offer. We did a last minute beach and lunch/drinks excursion through Carnival to help use our OBC. It was a great day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The process was easy. We picked the later disembark time and our zone was called early. Our wait was minimal, got our luggage quickly and boom, we were out getting into our shuttle to the airport.

Looks like a good time was had by all. I like taking the ferry from Cozumel to the mainland, sometimes the sea is choppy and makes for a wild ride. Exhilarating!
