Review summary

We had an amazing time and met some amazing people! It was wonderful to be back onboard. I felt very safe due to the vaccination and testing mandates as well as masking. You do what you have to do and it was amazing!

Embarkation

Very smooth. However, upon submitting our covid test results and vaccination cards we were ushered to an upstairs holding room. Upon arrival we were told that my husband’s lot numbers were not listed on his vaccine card. Let me say that the Carnival staff were so kind and understanding in a very stressful situation. Because it was a Saturday we could not contact the agency where he received his vaccines nor could we reach the CDC. Therefore, he had to take another covid test @ $150 and board the ship with as “unvaccinated”. Our excursions were refunded and he would not be allowed off the ship. Thankfully, a family member was able to get the appropriate info for us on Monday and the flag on his status was removed. Just a friendly reminder to check your vaccine card for birthdate, location, lot numbers….everything!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate dinner in the Reflections dining room every night. The food and service were impeccable thanks to Hugo Jr., John and Mayor. Late night pizza is a must have. The beverage stops throughout the ship always had fresh coffee and cream. Marketplace only served bacon twice.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Visited the fitness center 3 or 4 times; very nice. We spent a lot of time at the Tides pool. Less crowded than the main pool.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We went to a few comedy shows. Merle Hobbs was hysterical and able to make everyday situations comedic! We saw the Cuban music show and the Tock Show…all good.

Children's Programs

Did not travel with kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was Rowena and she always had a smile on her face and a sweet demeanor 😀Everyone on the ship was very welcoming & always very helpful. I especially noticed how nice and genuinely appreciative the staff was. Dining room staff Hugo Jr., John and Mayor were so accommodating and always called us by name.

Ship Quality

Very very clean! Staff constantly cleaning. Trash cans never overflowing. Floors vacuumed frequently. Made me feel safe.

Cabin / Stateroom

Everything was perfect! Loved the towel animals!

Ship tip

To indulge at dinner, never take the elevators! Use stairs whenever possible!

Not much to look at. We did use transport from IAH to the port and back. That was great!

Port was nice and pretty. Shopping area was nice as well. Had to take a bubble tour because of the aforementioned situation. Wasn’t the one we would have chosen but it was ok. Staff were fantastic and food was good.

Belize City, Belize Did not visit port

Did not get off the ship in this port.

2 options available: Day before you pick up a zone tag for your luggage if you want Carnival to pick up your stuff. You wait the next until your # is called then you leave the ship. We just kept our luggage and left when our muster station was called.
