Review summary

This was fun and relaxing. But it seemed like the cruise had a lot of things you had to pay extra to participate in on the ship, more than I've experienced before. The ship was nice, clean, and had a lot of small spaces to go, but seemed crowded by comparison to other ships, which may be a symptom of the lack of traditionally larger public spaces.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was the fastest I have ever gotten on a ship. As fast as I could walk, I was on.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was outstanding, though was a bit lacking in variety. The food on the lido buffet was average at best, and often times only mildly warm. The sushi restaurant was a disappointment.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
It seems like Carnival has built this ship to extract as much money as possible from people. On this ship there were far more things to do that cost additional money than those that were included, or so it seemed.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The comedians were amazing.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Staff was good, but not overly friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This ship was clean. The design was much more muted than other Carnival ships I've been on, and had more of a modern feel...but that almost didn't make it feel like Carnival.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
This was small for two people and storage space was lacking.

Ship tip

Pay attention to when things like activities and restaurants are actually open. They seem to only be open for short periods.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

3 out of 5

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
The Cozumel by Land & Sea excursion was a lot of fun. The tequila factory was tasty. The port shopping was also good and somewhat fun.

Belize City, Belize

3 out of 5
It's difficult to get out of the port without an excursion booked.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

4 out of 5
Getting out of the port area can be a bit daunting if you don't know where to go for something like a taxi. We did Zip Lining with South Shore Canopy Tours and I would highly recommend them!

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
This took forever! Once we actually made it off of the ship around 10am, (two hours into disembarkation), it took almost a full hour to get through the customs and baggage line.

We have found a lot of extra cost on cruises. However I still think they are better than most land vacations

Thanks for your review! Can you explain what cost extra please? Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to give us such valuable info. We are cruising in about a month and this helped out tremendously. How was the embarkation and debarkation process? We went about a year ago and it was fast getting in and slow getting off of the ship?

Use walk off self assist for debarkation and you’ll be off she ship must faster. We were off before 8 AM.
