Great cruise - but would have been better on the Magic! I love children - well supervised children! But, so wish Carnival had an adult only cruise that sails out of Galveston. Way too many children on this cruise for us!

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Evening dining was great. Buffet breakfast couldn’t have been better!
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Needs to be an adult only pool in the serenity area along with another hot tub.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Much better entertainment and karaoke hosts on previous ships.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward was great. Horizon wait staff we experienced not so wonderful, but our wait team in Reflections was good.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Not a fan of this ship. Previous ships we’ve been on - Magic and Conquest - we liked much better.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Size was smaller, bed and pillows were super comfortable, sofa-nothing comfortable about it, was terrible to sit on, bathroom was smaller but okay. Our cabin was clean when we arrived and Nataylia kept it super clean for us , balcony was fine. There was a pass through door that connected the next door cabin! Hope we don’t have to do that again! We could here everything such as the baby crying!
Ship tip
Be prepared that it is nothing compared to other Carnival ships if you’ve ever cruised before.
Went to 7 Mile Beach- beautiful! Will definitely go back. Just wish there was more time at this port. Our taxi drivers were very informative and so polite!
Dfromatx I think you will enjoy The Vista the best. I cruised last August and had a blast. The children in the summer months and holidays would be a bit of a problem but the vista has so much for them to do, you wont notice until you want to get in the pool. 😆. Have a great time in July!
Our first two cruises were on the Magic and we loved it! Third cruise was on the Valor and it was just ok. Next cruise on the Vista in July. We’ll see which we like best - can’t wait!
If you want to cruise when there are not lots of children on board, choose a time of year when most are in school. Do not cruise during the summer, March or April or during Christmas and New Year’s. If you must cruise during that time, pick an itinerary of 10 days or longer, choose a Departure port that is more difficult to get to such as San Juan, or book a cruise line that tends to cater more to adults such as Holland America, Celebrity, Regent, Oceania, etc.
And each ship is obviously different than others whether Carnival, RCC, NCL etc... That's what makes cruising fun- different experiences. Hopefully if you continue to cruise, you'll experience that when becoming seasoned cruiser. Helpful to watch YouTube videos, read reviews on trip advisor or this forum on the ships BEFORE you book it. There were ships we didn't book because we research everything. I haven't sailed on magic or conquest so can't give opinion but did on Vista and others and they are all different except maybe if same class, layout may be similar but changing crew every 6 months, everything including service is different. We were on same exact ship/intinerary few months apart and seemed like different ships because of service😜
Hope you have more enjoyable cruises after researching/preparing. 🏖️🍹👙⛵🥧🍰🍦😋🍾
Sounds like you cruised during spring break when kids off school. Tip for having connecting cabin- look online at where your room is BEFORE your cruise when you pick your cabin - can choose on their map/floorplan. Preparing would have helped out with the minor issues you had on this ship. Good luck on next one 🏖️🍹👙⛵🥧🍰🍦😋
