Review summary

We definitely want to sail on the Vista again! The days at sea were well balanced with the days in port. The ship is fun and beautiful. The staff is friendly and professional. The food was much better than we've had on other cruise lines and there is a happy party feel to the ship. I have no complaints about any of the cruise from the wonderful ship to the fun shore excursions. It was all perfect and a wonderful, relaxing vacation.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Things went pretty smooth, except we were parking a car at the dock lot in Galveston, and it took over an hour to get parked. This made the rest of the party standing in line to check in having to be pulled out of line. Then because of the parking problem we were told we were late for our assigned check in, even though 6 of the 8 in our party had been standing in line for an hour before check in. They did let us go through when we explained the situation to them. Once on board, it seemed crowed and confused. Things settled down after dinner.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were quite happy with the quality of the food. There was never a long line at the buffet which was very nice. The service was very good!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The ship had so many fun things to do we couldn't take advantage of all we wanted to. The sky bikes were a lot of fun as well as the ropes course. All the pools were great. I thought the music was too loud by the main pool, so we found other pools that were quieter and we could talk. All in all this is a fantastic ship!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All were exceptional!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Our Grandson loved the kids programs and we felt very comfortable with the staff and activities. The Dr Suess theme is great!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the team members we interacted with were friendly, professional and helpful. Our favorite waiter was Mario and his team Jeremia and I Komang. Also the bartenders in the Havana Club and Serenity were awesome!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I loved this ship enough to want to go on it for my next cruise. We learned the layout quickly the first day and navigated the ship very easily thereafter. It was very clean and nicely decorated. My only complaint was the casino. It was so smoky that I did not gamble on this cruise as I usually do, and held my breath walking through the casino. It appeared that smokers found the casino a conveniently located place to sit and have a smoke, even when they weren't gambling.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was a very roomy and well laid out cabin. We loved having two bath area's especially when we were in charge of the grandkids. There was plenty of closet space and drawers to unpack in. Our room was very clean and the cabin steward and her team were extremely friendly and attentive. I was very happy with the location as it was quiet and easy to get to stairs and the elevator.

Ship tip

Walk around all the decks the first day to learn where everything is. Then enjoy!

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
Galveston is very nice, but we didn't do any sightseeing here this time.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

5 out of 5
We had a great time in Montego Bay. We took the Bobsled, Dunns River Falls excursion and had a great time. We were not disappointed.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Grand Cayman is a favorite for us. We took the family on the Stingray City and Turtle excursion. Everyone in our group loved all of it!

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
I always like Cozumel. We have a different experience every time we go and it is always wonderful. Half of our group went on a cave adventure and loved it. A few of us took the kids to a beach excursion and had a great time.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was the easiest I've ever experienced on a cruise.

I agree with you. Me and my daughter sailed last August and had the best time. We will definitely sail again. Glad you enjoyed it too.

Great attitude! We had the same issue with our party and checking in.... & disembarking. Next time, we will all stay together, unless it’s raining. Not always worth dropping everybody off and parking. Just have to feel it out.
