Review summary

The cabin steward and the wait staff were very nice, however, this did not make up for the lack of concern shown by management. If you don't book directly through Carnival (giving them a greater profit margin), then they will not assist you if there is a problem with your booking. Also, we spent a great deal of money of shore excursions. The staff that books the excursions are completely clueless (although they are very nice). We were misinformed every time. That is not to say that all the excurions were bad, some were very good. The ship staff may say there was no where to put personal belongings and then you would find out there was a locker. They may say you would get wet, when in fact you would not. Whatever the staff told you was never actually right. Some of the excursions were not at all good. Also, the food on this ship was not good and they shut down the buffet just as everyone came back from port. I will never use Carnival again. I have had much better luck with Princess.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Service desk unwilling to assist us. Cabin steward great, wait staff very good.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was clean. My sixteen year old twins and their two friends were not allowed to work out without me watching. They are old enough to drive a car and as long as everyone is behaving, I do not see why they have this policy. There needs to be more activities for this age group on the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

ok

Pros: the many ports of call

Cons: one of our "beds" turned out to be a love seat that was 4'10" long, even though the youngest person in our party was 16 years of age. Guest services did not care, because we booked through Priceline and not through the ship, so it was "not their problem".

Recommends Carnival Victory? No.
