Review summary

Loved this ship. The decor is beautiful, make sure you take the stairs to see the art work. Deck five was a favorite, you can walk around the whole deck outside.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy and fast, but we usually take boarding around 1:00, less crowded.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining was pretty good. Some dishes were excellent and others were a miss. Usually try to avoid buffet due to crowds. Had a wonderful lunch in the steakhouse that was included with our room. Never pay extra for food but this lunch made me think I’m really missing out.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment was very good and some comedy was outstanding.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No complaints, everyone was great and very helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved this ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Terrazzo rooms were great. Included a patio, free lunch in the steakhouse, no kids, robes & slippers, continental breakfast in the area bar and a private area with two hot tubs. Only one con, if your a lite sleeper, right below our cabin is an area where crew members like to congregate and can be loud at 2:00 in the morning.

Ship tip

Get to shows early.

Hubby caught Covid and was allowed to leave the ship until everyone else was off. It was 10:30 before he was allowed to leave.

Was on same cruise and while I agree with what was said, I do need to clarify certain aspects. The entirety of deck 5 is only accessible if you are in a Terrazzo cabin, those from the rest of the ship will be stopped at the wind baffles or from emtering outside at the bar area. Lunch in the Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse is an out of the ordinary perk usually reserved for Diamond member cabins, Ultra casino players (& companions), or as a super special customer service issue compensation, as that specialty restaurant does not normally offer a lunch. As to the change in entertainment, one night one of the headliners tested inconclusive on their Covid test, and on the other night the fly-on act never showed up in time to embark the ship (not sure if transport or immigration problem).

It was a very fun cruise, our first Carnival cruise. My husband got sick too, but thankfully, it is just the common cold for which I have now. I agree with the food in the MDR it was hit or miss. We had lots of onboard credit, so we splurged by having dinner at Il Viaggio and Bonsai Teppanyaki along with lunch at Bonsai Sushi, and all three were superb and beyond filling. The entertainment was very good, though a few performers did arrive on the ship. I'm not sure why, so they had to rearrange two of the nights.

Ouch. The hazards of life today, and Covid is up there.
