Review summary

Booked this for my parents 50th anniversary with my siblings and our kids. There were lots of activities to enjoy together and individually. Personally I would have like more time in Grand Turk and St. Thomas and could have skipped over Puerto Rico. Bahamas would have been another good addition.

Overall it was a nice ship and the service was very good.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was good. Surprised how good the quality was in the dining room. Be prepared for long food lines as you return from excursions. Carnival could have done a better job opening more restaurants during these times.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Plenty to do.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed the comedy club.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Plenty to do for my 10 year old and teenage niece and nephew.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The restaurant and housekeeping staff were beyond friendly. They really offer a personal experience.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The Valor is an older ship. Inside it is clean and in very good shape. Outside is very rusty and in need to paint.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved the oversized balcony and views.

Ship tip

Don't miss the Comedy Club. Both the family and adult versions are great! Carnival offered excursions are very good. Grab a space on deck early on days at sea.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Went to Kennedy Space Center after the cruise which was nice. Beyond that the town is nothing spectacular.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Beautiful beaches and nice town to explore.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
Very historic city. Hard for it to compete with Grand Turk and St. Thomas.

Grand Turk Island

Island is an absolute paradise! Enjoyed the Bajari Beach Club excursion. Not overcrowded like the beach at the port.
