Review summary

My wife and I have been on over 6 Carnival cruises and this was the worst.

1. There are 37 television channels and the major networks (ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX) went off the air at least 6 times for sometimes hours with no explanations. The major news network is 3 CNN channels. The most popular news network FOX News is not available. Also, there is no food channel or HGTV type channel. Very poor choices.

2. Service in the dining rooms is slow. I believe more waiters are needed. We missed 2 evening shows because we were still eating when the shows started. The shows that they offered were average at best and there were not shows offered every night like we have experienced on every other cruises on Princess, Royal Caribbean,  Norwegian or even Carnival.

3. There was 1 electrical outlet in our cabin, no enough.

We will not be traveling on Carnival again for a long time.

really your worried about a TV. why go on a cruise if that's the only thing your worried abt. but i did hear that they play movies on the pool deck, the have entertainment on the ship, dang cruises are full of things to do amd if you ask pretty much anyone...theres never a dull moment. get off your tail and meet someone. idk do something besides go to your room. dang being in the room on a cruise bothers me. oh btw if you bring a power srrip that really helps the one outlet problem. I heard they sell them at the walmart or dollar store or lowes or home depot ... check ther mext time, but wait you probably can't because your to busg watching tv at your house to get up and shop for your cruise. ALSO one question for ya??? DID YOU ALSO BUY THE WI-FI?

Observation: Today I researched TV channels on the Valor ONLY because my family LOVES the Walking Dead and the season premiere shows while we are on board. This is the 4th or 5th complaint I've read about FOX not being available. I don't think that's a coincidence. That the people complaining about TV on a cruise ship must have the worst news outlet available. j/s Anyway, no AMC onboard, so we'll just have to find SOMETHING to do ;)

yeah I'm gonna spend few hundred bucks to watch TV. go up to serinity lounge enjoy the sights admire the beauty of a majestic ocean. so the shows maybe so so for some your away from reality not in a cube or 9-5 a few days to forget the real world

why is TV so important on a cruise. Your suppose to be getting away from everything

Who goes on a cruise to watch tv? Need more outlets bring a power strip. Sounds like you were determined not to have a good time.

rtpetey    8 years ago

that's why you bring a power strip

I have to laugh about the TV. Just ridiculous. Now in regards to the dining room being slow, the same thing happened to us on the Sunshine. we had the your time dining and made it a point to get to the dining room as soon as it opened but because the service was slow we missed the shows. we even tried eating at the lido one night and it didn't open for dinner until later than we expected and still missed all the shows including the comedy. i think in our case the timing of the shows were at weird times so we missed them. oh well we still had a great time and didn't let this ruin our vacation.

heck, I don't care about tv at home. we always take a surge protected power strip. kids have books or games to keep busy if a quiet time. we enjoyed even the worst shows because we were together and no dishes after dinner. plus, pools, ice cream, pizza and family. ;-)

Personally, I don't care about tv on a cruise...

really you are complaining about tv channels? dude you're on a cruise ship with tons of entertainment not to be a couch potato! missing shows because you were at dinner was your fault for the dining time you selected. eating in the dining room is not required you could eat buffet or burgers if the shows were that important. and lastly if you've been on "6 Carnival cruises" you should know all rooms have only 1 electrical outlet. I've only been on 1 & knew that

I have never seen the major channels on a cruise unless we were really close to the states. I can't ever, ever remember seeing HGTV or any type of channel on a cruise. And reading everyone's posts, almost all ships have 2 outlets. 1 in the room, 1 in the bathroom.

I see you gave the cruise 3 stars, I would like to know what you enjoyed about it.
