Review summary
Our first impression of the ship was that on the inside it is due for a a major upgrade! Our room was dusty and not cleaned very well when we first got to our room (dust all over, splatters on mirror, black hair all of the hairdryer/drawer). Then when walking around the ship, we felt the same way. All stair railings were in need of re-staining and varnishing and it just seemed old and dirty. The staff was okay. Actually, this was the most inattentive stave I've had on a cruise (with the exception of Iwana). One night there were photographers and staff sitting on the stairs outside of the Lincoln dining room and they didnt move so we could go up the stairs. We had to walk around them all. They also didnt make announcements when we arrived at a port and the communications to everyone on board was inefficient. People were walking around clueless of where to go to leave the ship, when to return, or if we had even arrived. Unfortunately, hurricane Joaquin hit during our cruise and we had to miss our last port. They did nothing to try to make this better for guests, especially when all outdoor areas were closed off and we were sailing through the hurricane. The entertainment was also very poor and lacking, like non-existent lacking. The only good part was the comedians that were on the ship the first two days, they were great! Overall, it was just not a good cruise and just felt dirty and that the staff didn't care about their guests.

Thank you for posting a review. The first response really demonstrates the principle of one person's trash is another's treasure. It is a really good idea to research your ship's history prior to booking. If you prefer/expect Disney-level cleanliness and upkeep, booking a Disney cruise instead of one of an older Carnival vessel may be a better idea. Best wishes for successful future cruising!
