Review summary
Over all this was a great cruise. The weather turned out great. The staff was attentive and super nice. Lots of variety on this cruise. Entertainment was solid. we particularly like the Latin band and we had never listened to Latin music before. very engaging. We loved having a balcony. Great views all the time. The room staff was great. Henry did an outstanding job taking care of us all week. The cruise director was very funny and kept things going. the comedy was great and the other henry was great handling all that area and was a great sport with all the comedians. The ports of call were great. Three of which we had never been to. San Juan was particularly great for me. Lots of history. Great tour guide Clim. That group was part of the Old San Juan walking tour/making local food excursion booked through Carnival. The one disappointing area was the food. Usually the best part, this cruise it was not. Particularly for my wife. Just about everything she chose was not very good. mine was ok with the steakhouse being the best. Although that took forever. The service in the Lincoln Room was good most of the week. However there was one night, first formal night, we were seated towards the back and the waiter had 15 to 20 people he had to look after and no one else helped him through 3/4 of the meal. Took forever to get the drinks and even water. They didn't really catch up till almost desert. but all and all we really had a great time and would do it again.

we should have waited a couple of more weeks so there would be fewer children. Could never really use the main pool. the private area was very far away for us and quite boring which I guess is the point. We wanted to see the dances and hear the music but be able to move better around the pool.
