Review summary
Maybe it was the time of year or maybe it was the ports of call. Beaches were filled with seaweed and rocks. Tender stop in Belize really cuts down on shore time. Costa Maya was limited on excursions beyond the port shops and still shows the devastation of the last hurricane. Ship itself is dated but food and service was very good. Entertainment was excellent. Only unpleasant experience was the tour guide on the last day for the behind-the-scenes tour. Kayla set the mood right off by saying we couldn't take the tour because our footwear was wrong. "Somebody didn't read their instructions" she mocked in front of the group. It went down hill from there. She was snarky and condescending. An obese 20 something Canadian who was a trainer in HR. She had poor communication skills talked about crew as if they were serfs. It left a bad impression. The tour itself was interesting when we met other staffers especially in the control room and the captain on the bridge. Very nice man.Ship experiences
