Review summary
This was our fourth Carnival cruise and unfortunately started with some dissapointment. When I booked our cruise through , there were 4 bonus offers: Up to 7-Category Upgrade, Chose And Cruise:Up to $300 in Cruise Cash, Choose and Cruise: Free hotel Stay - Up To $500, and Up to $80 Bar Onboard Credit. For the Choose and Cruise, we opted for the Free Hotel Stay (which ended up being a $50 credit - okay). In order to get the lowest room cost, we could not select our room (which was okay). We did not get any room upgrade (again okay), and we were told that there would be a $40 bar onboard credit loaded on each of our sail and sign cards. Upon having our cards checked to make sure there was a bar credit, we found out it was not there. Part way through the cruise, I was able to reach our booking agent that we had been working with only to find out that because we choose to let Carnival select our room at the lowest rate, we did not qualify for the onboard bar credit. Needless to say, this left us frustrated and disappointed in Carnival and to find that someone dropped the ball in communicating this. Other than that, the cruise was the same as the other three we've been on as far as food, entertainment, etc. Although the adult only comedians was a nice change. I'm not sure we'll be cruising with Carnival for awhile, or maybe again. It might be time to try another cruiseline. And maybe this time we'll book something through Costco.
