Review summary

This cruise exceeded our expectations.  The food was consistently good and our room was larger than we expected.  The staff was lovely.  Considering that we paid a little over $600/person for 10 days, this cruise was a pretty good value.  Most of the shows were very good, although it was sometimes hard to see the shows with our 8:15 dining time.  There was always something to do with all of the activities on board (gambling, karaoke, putt putt, ping pong, basketball court, comedy shows, etc.).  The ports of call were good, especially St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Grand Turk, and Half Moom Cay. The ship was pretty nice.  However, the layout was a bit confusing.  It took me most of the cruise to find my way around.  Our room was on the second deck, and in a portion of the deck, there was a strong odor that remained for the duration of the cruise.  From the looks of the ship, it is a fairly old ship.  However, it was still in good shape and was more than adequate for my needs.   Overall, my family and I had a great time.

The room was reasonably sized and the bed was quite comfortable.

Ship tip

The lunch buffet on the Lido deck was consistently good. The food at Chopsticks was pretty good, too. Definitely get a shrimp and beef burrito from the burrito bar.

Be sure to visit the local shops/booths. The locals are lovely.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Walk to the end of the beach, where there are very few people. You can hang out on the beach there without being hassled by vendors and without paying anything.

St. John's, Antigua

Grand Turk Island

The reef and rays excursion was awesome. The snorkeling was good and we even got to pet a nurse shark. The ray encounter was fun. We got to pet and kiss a stingray.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

This is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen. The beach is very long, the sand is soft, and the water is great.

Galveston, Texas

Not much here but a port. The water is brown and uninviting.
