I like a 10 day itinerary. Good ports! Nice staff. Comfy cabin. Good food.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Literally took 2 hours from our check in time (we were a little early) until we boarded the ship. Terrible introduction to Carnival. Everything about embarkation was a mess.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Loved the variety. Of course, Guys Burgers was the best. MDR was good. They didn’t have a problem bringing two lobster tails! We enjoyed trying to get food at every venue offered and almost did it. Bonsai sushi was good and worth the small charge. The Steak House was very very good. Loved the 24/7 ice cream.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Enjoyed the adults only section. Hot tub could have been warmer.
Being a Journeys cruise, I was expecting some onboard info about the ports or a naturalist or something a little educational about where we were going. Nothing like that at all. That was disappointing.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The only good show there was in the 10 day cruise IMO was the one where the CD (the Flying Scotsman) sang. I’m not sure why they didn’t have many shows. Kind of like they didn’t think of doing that. Some comedians were good (Roman Murray) and some ok but there was one I thought was terrible. His entire show was based on tearing down anyone and everyone he could get a hold of in the audience. I was very disappointed in the entertainment.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Room steward was fantastic. Other staff were very nice. I never had any incident where I felt like I was being treated anything other than great!
Ship Quality

Loved the Serenity area. Cabin was nice and roomy (interior).
Mostly everything was clean.
One time there was pizza all over the carpet as you came in from the pool deck and it was there for hours.
The layout was fine except you almost HAD to walk through the casino to get to the dining room unless you went up the stairs, around and down the back. That was a terrible idea.
Buffet area was congested-most of the food areas on the Lido deck were.
The Limelight Lounge was difficult to find and was very hot and stuffy.
With that being said, we enjoyed it!

Ship tip
Despite some things I didn’t like, it was a great cruise and I really liked it. I’m glad they did a refurbishment and I got to go on this cruise!
Better than embarkation but it would have been very difficult to be worse.
We were told we would be called according to deck and so after waiting and waiting, they finally called our deck and then threw in the last 5 decks too! It didn’t matter. By that time, everyone was jammed in the elevator area and those of us that could took the stairs but it was pretty slow and difficult (seeing as how we were coming from Lido deck).
Fortunately, our hotel in NYC was only about a mile from the port so we decided to skip the line for taxis and Ubers and walk to the hotel.
