Review summary

Alaska was amazing! Definitely go for the views and Alaska. Take a different ship though. We found this one lacking in entertainment that appealed to a wide range of people.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It took longer because of the covid stuff. Also they took my preschool scissors. Apparently you can't have even those now.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining was fine, but nothing spectacular. Buffets were fine, but the food was pretty much the same every day.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Lots of activities like trivia and bingo. Not much else to do. We watched the ocean a lot looking for wildlife.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
We have been on cruises before where they had after-dinner shows each night that were entertaining for all ages. We were SO disappointed that the Splendor had no such productions. They had music performances that only appealed to a select few. I would have chosen a different ship if I knew they didn't have evening performances.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were all so friendly and helpful. Loved the waiters and the room stewards. All great!!

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The design of the ship was lacking for sure. It felt cramped. Also it was hard to go from one end of the ship to the other on the same deck. We always had to go to another floor and then down to get from front to back. It felt clean though and things were well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Tiny and dated. The 90's called and want their decor back. Things were clean for the most part. We could tell the beds weren't cleaned under very often. We found several items of garbage.

Ship tip

If nightly productions are important to you, don't take this ship. If you like trivia, bingo, karaoke, and drinking games, you'll love it.

Thanks for the review. I have been on the Splendor twice, including in May to Alaska, and loved it. I thought it was the perfect size for Alaska and had plenty of activities to offer.
