Review summary

The reason we gave 3 stars for both Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan, is because we had over 10 hours at the Point, and it's so small with limited things to do and go, and only 6 hours in Ketchikan, with there being so much more opportunities there. I wish the times at both places would have been reversed. Then it would have been 5 stars all around.

Just about equal to the embarkation experience. We were in the taxi for the airport within 20 minutes of when we were in line on the ship.

Was Icy Strait Point a good stop? Are they getting 3 Stars because of the time frame or you didn’t like it? I have seen there is not a lot to do there and without an Excursion it will be a long day.

Thanks for your review,we board the Splendor in 16 days. Kinda nervous. Have never flown to port to cruise and never been to Seattle. So much to do beforehand. Especially with all the covid restrictions. Your comments helped ease my worries about the ship.

Yes we often wish we could schedule the time in ports according to which one we like better. Unfortunately, the time allocated for a port is strictly a factor of how long it takes to get to the next port. You wouldn't want 10 hours in Ketchikan if it meant getting to the next port in the late afternoon.
