Carnival is NOT a cruiseline we will use again or recommend to anybody. Our steward and waiters were really awesome but the drink packages and the hassle it was to get a drink (soda) is beyond ridiculous. There weren't a whole lot of things to do on the ship. We wanted to play card games as a group and there weren't many places to do this.
Also wasn't that impressed with the Mexican Riviera. The waters were pretty rough on the 2 days at sea coming back.
Embarkation

Things went pretty smoothly. We had some issues and needed a wheelchair assist. Carnival employees were very accomodating
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Dinning people were amazing, we had issues with our dining and got stuck with the late dining but Rica and her crew were so friendly and fun it was ok. We had 10 people in our group and we all think the drink situation is beyond ridiculous!!! If you didn't have the cheers package, you were kind of ignored. We hated that for the most part you had go to a bar to get a soft drink and the fact that it was cans and not fountain is so stupid. You ended up with a warm drink until the ice melted enough to make the drink cold. The bubbly soft drink packages on other cruise lines comes with a mug of some sort. With Carnival you have to pay extra for it. This is our second time on Carnival and we will DEFINATELY NOT be going on another one. I will pay the little bit extra and go on Royal or Norwegian EVERYTIME!!!
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Not a lot to do on this particular ship. With the late night dining you miss most of the family friendly shows. If you like to gamble the casino is good.
Entertainment

Compared to other cruise ships this wasn't anything to rave about.
Children's Programs
Didn't take children on this trip
Service and Staff

Our steward Rony was super AMAZING!! He took time to introduce himself to us and always asked if we needed anything whenever he saw us. Love him and appreciate the care he took. Also our waitress/waiters were super fun and accommodating!! Rica always called us by name and showed genuine interest in our day and gave us advice on different things to do and see.
Ship Quality

The ship seemed to be well kept. It felt clean. The thing I HATE about both Carnival cruises I have been on is the fact that the Casino is in the middle of the ship!!! So if you forgot it was on the 5th deck you have to pass through it to get to the other side. It should be in the back of the ship so unless you want to go there you don't have to!!!
Cabin / Stateroom

Beds are comfy for the most part. We did have some issues with the crack in the middle where the beds are pushed together but nothing too bad
Ship tip
Not to do it!!!! The drinks are seriously a joke!!! If they were fountain and more accessible it would have been worth the money we paid for our drink package!! Again if you not a gambler, there isn't much to do as far as entertainment.
All inclusive resort excursion was ok. El Cid is where we went, we weren't able to get in the ocean and apparently this is usually the case do to the danger. The food there was ok. Wouldn't do this one again.
Rhythms of the night is a pretty fun one. The show is amazing. Food is authentic and pretty good. The guys on the ferry that take you there are some pretty entertaining guys.
We requested a wheelchair assist for my Mother in law and were told to get the chair in a place that was actually closed when we had to exist our cabins. The person at the the door told us to ask a Carnival employee coming back with an empty wheelchair to use it. We literally saw two right by each other and both refused to help us because they needed to be signed out on the ship!!! The third employee we saw did help us but only after we had to make a big fuss over the fact that one wasn't provided as promised.
Sorry you didnt have a good cruise! I guess your party was reallly into soda to make a trip where u dont have to cook or clean and get to see beautiful scenery such a waste! I guess the trip is what you make of it!
