We loved this cruise. Everyone had a wonderful time. We will definitely be going on another cruise!!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Fairly quick to get on the boat. We didn’t have to wait long at all.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining rooms were amazing! Lido deck was okay at the buffets. The food was usually the same, and was not as hot as it should be. We never got to try the Mongolian wok, the line was always an hour long. Wish they would put up a sign that says one plate per person. The reason it took so long is that people would bring 5-6 plates each (I’m assuming for different family members) each plate took on average 4-5 minutes to cook. The bbq was good. Tandoor was good. The deli was amazing with their custom sandwiches. Pizza was good, always hot and fresh. As for the drinks. Most all the drinks were delicious. Prices ranged from $7.50 to $10 for alcoholic beverages.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There was always something to do onboard. Plan your day out the night before. Use the Carnival hub app. It would’ve wonderful as long as you keep the app open. Messages come through fast just like texts. The pools were very small square shaped. Mostly full all of the time. And don’t forget when you check out a towel, you have to check it back in or you will be charged $22 each. We made that mistake when leaving them on the deck chairs.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Most shoes were very entertaining. They needed to organize them better though. For example: the comedy show, and magic show should’ve been held in a larger room. Or they should’ve had two performers, one at each end of the ship. There was never enough seating, and you needed to arrive 30-45 minutes early to get a good seat.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
We had my 12 year old nephew in circle C. He really liked it! They played video games, did scavenger hunts, played phisical activities. He always looked forward to his club time.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We never had any bad service. All the staff is so nice, they call you by name, and always have a smile on their face!! Our room steward was Erfan. Him and his staff were excellent!!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Ship design/layout could be better. There were a couple floors where you could not walk completely through due to the kitchen/dining room. The ship was dated, ie. Broken swimming pool tiles, major rust in corners etc. But this ship will soon be dry docked for a complete make over.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Very clean cabin. We had 3 adults and 1 child. Of course it was cramped when we were up and getting ready, but other than that. It was fine, you’re really only in your room to sleep. So it was fine. The sheets were very soft, the bed was soft and comfy. Apparently the bunks were pretty firm, but that’s standard. Pillows were soft and fluffy. Our only complaint was that our room was incredibly hot!! We had maintenance look into it, and they said the ac worked fine. It doesn’t have an actual temperature gauge in the room, but it felt like it was close to 80 in the room. By the second night we were told by a fellow passenger that you can ask for a fan. We did that and always kept it on for air circulation. It helped a lot, especially sleeping at night.
Ship tip
Enjoy yourself! Plan for a lot of walkIng. Ask for a fan for your room. Definitely utilize laundry services and room service.
We didn’t do anything in Long Beach. But the drop off/pick up needs to be better organized. It was about a 30 minutes wait in the car once we arrived close to the port.
Very beautiful city. The port is so huge though. Plan to walk a lot, or grab a water taxi. This port you need a tender to get to from the ship. We waited 2 hours and even had tender tickets for a certain time. By the way. We didn’t know we needed tickets to get a tender. So pay attention to that and grab a ticket.
We loved Mazatlan the best!! Great people here. Very nice! We took a city tour, and everything was amazing. Stopped at a local restaurant and ate carnitas. Yes there are run down areas because the town is old. But it has so much character.
Beautiful city. We walked the beaches, went to a resort and swam in their pools. Picked up souvenirs from the local flea market. This port was easiest to barder. In my opinion.
