Review summary

Nice cruise, but I have honestly been on much nicer ships with better, more accessible food. Not sure I would use Carnival again now that I have sailed with a number of cruise lines.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food in dining room was ok. Burger bar had limited hours, which we found strange.

Mongolian Wok

3 out of 5

Hours were limited, selection was minimal....though it was a nice change of pace.

The Gold Pearl Restaurant

3 out of 5

Staff here were all mice, but exceedingly slow!!

The Coffee Shop

3 out of 5

Yummy options here.

The Black Pearl Restaurant

4 out of 5

Food was good. Staff was very attentive.

Pizzeria

4 out of 5

Appreciates this a an option for meals. Hours were great....24/7 and they had gluten free pizza!

Grand Piano Bar

5 out of 5

We really enjoyed Gary and the fun in this bar a number of nights.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Movies needed an indoor location to be shown too. We could never get a seat on the deck. Most events seemed to be about spending money. Shows were great. Tinder process at ports without a dock was a disaster.....very disorganized and hard to get off the ship.

Hot Tubs

3 out of 5

They were not very hot!

Thalassotherapy Pool

3 out of 5

It was broken down a lot and the seating in it is so strange. It made it hard for a number of people to be in it at once.

Photo Gallery

3 out of 5

Previous ships have had photo recognition software to help you find your pics. This was hard to navigate. I did not buy as much.

Cloud 9 Spa

4 out of 5

Spa services and staff were great.

Entertainment

The Alexandria Library

Great board games there!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This ship is clearly older and a bit worn.

Cabin / Stateroom

Size and cleanliness were fine. Access to the balcony was a small door. There was a window looking out to the balcony. I prefer a sliding glass door so if I was to keep it open to hear the ocean, I can.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Again, tinder process was very frustrating and the shore was unimpressive. No time to really explore Cabo.
